A wander through the atmospheric and nostalgic district of Shinjuku Nishiguchi Omoide Yokocho in Tokyo. The bars and restaurants are clustered together in a series of small lanes. On offer is yakitoriya, soba, motsuyakiya and of course beer. Omoide Yokocho is full of history, it originated as a black market selling food and essentials in the rubble and chaos at the end of World War 2. Parts were removed in the construction of Shinjuku Station and much was razed by a fire in 1999. Thankfully the area was rebuilt and its atmosphere can still be enjoyed.
