Hi @POPE - yes - I thought the journey with The Doors was over - but I stuck with it anyway - thanks for sharing more songs from one of my favorite bands. And yes - humanity originated in Africa - that's a fact and The Doors named it! All thumbs up that it was already mentioned in a song back then - THE DOORS were way ahead of their time and without prejudices - Great song and also a great band - best wishes @all from Hamburg (Germany)

I was a huge Morrison fan when I was younger. Running around asking what would Jim do, can get you in a lot of trouble. I don't know if you've done Texas Radio and the Big Beat or Peace Frog yet. You may also want to check out Patti Smith if you're into poetry. The song Horses is wild.

Morrison was a really brilliant man but had his demons. He believed the spiirits of native Americans inhabited him after he witnessed an truck accident in New Mexico where several natives were lying on street surrounded by blood . He was mesmerizing in concert when he went into a trance and did his own native American dance

"Remember when we were in Africa?" Tribes migrated from Africa to Europe to Siberia and settled with Asians and migrated to the Bering Strait into North America and are the Native American tribes we now know.

I love this song and your poem, but I have to translate it and think more about what it means. Maybe it's about, how difficult it is for the young generation to change entrenched opinions and the world? (Sorry for my bad english 😂)

For those that don't know, a lot of the times when Jim was live on stage, a lot of people thought he was "just jumping around", because he was "high", not true. Jim was doing Native American Indian tribal dances, that he learned when he was a young teenager, he often visited a Native American Indian reservation, where he hung out with them, listened to their "Ancient stories", "smoked peyote" with them and they taught him "tribal dancing"....that was what he was doing on stage when people thought he was just jumping around or 'High"..

I never knew that officially, but often put his movements down to him simulating the native Indians as I was aware of his connection to them

People who practice peyote culture don't smoke it,it has to be prepared by removing mould completely, placed in water, brought to a boil, then simmered to be ingested orally, when Jim was a child he was vacationing with his parents & grandparents travelling by car in the S.States during the earliest part of the day & happened to cross a post- multi vehicle accident scene with Mexican Indians strown on the Highway dieing, Jim reportedly said one or two spirits of dead Mexican Indian children entered & inhabited his body FOR THE REST OF HIS NATURAL LIFE!!!, I heard( never published) that when the Band traveled America Jim would wander solo to Reservations & Ghetto parts of Urbanization, for an example of his take on Pow-Wow dancing watch "The End" from "Live At The Hollywood Bowl" A STELLAR PERFORMANCE front to back!!the whole concert .
