Please, I am interested in learning about mafrouk too. I always thought mafrouk is twisting the string while drawing and in the release. Am I right?

Hi Karl, From what we know the Arab archers defined mafroukh as the twist, in this video we refer to this as the back khatra. The Turks describe mafroukh as a snatching style release. In the arab texts you will find this snatching release described as mukhtalas. It depends on the definition being used. This is our understanding and God knows best.
