thanks for this review! I am considering this boat .. how are you liking it ? I'm a new kayaker and tried a lost creek angler 12' - loved it, the storage, open space, and rails were perfect for how i wanted to outfit it... but the steering broke 5 uses in - sportsman's warehouse replaced it and the new one leaked like a sieve right first time out so they gave me store credit which I will keep and just buy something bette elsewhere. This is top of the list at the moment .. bang for the buck but I am gunshy. Thoughts ?

Why run wires on top of kayak and not through the whole kayak?

Seriously considering getting this one, tho i can do as much in the seastream angler as i can in this piece of ingenuity for a lot less. if i had /have one real concern and question to the folks at Recon....why can't yu make the retractable drive retrac at a much slower speed, lessoning the possibility of damage to the unit or underside of the kayak? Surely it's spring loaded, but all the same it's way too fast in retracting. i've got an idea or two on a supressur that can 'pinch' the drive from on top of the holder to slow it down, and if i get the yak that's be a project to work on., like a clamp/collar around the opening gripping it just enough to lessen the impact. Any thoughts from this forum on the idea?..or has anyone come up with anything in which i'm trying to describe? I'm basing my idea on maybe the speed of say, a periscope on a submarine,..maybe slower, which would be perfect for the drive.

When it's in the water it retracts much slower than it does on land. Much more reasonable speed. You can also tighten the mounting brackets a bit that surrounds the portion of the drive that retracts. As it gets tighter it moves more slowly. Thanks for watching!

Please do several more videos on this kayak I have A 18 foot boat that I run around. Where I normally fish, but it's too deep to run shallow and too much to transport. Where I go fishing for vacation and other times I would love to get a really nice kayak. But struggle to find out what seems to be the best. This looks really cool and I would really love to know more from you.

Dude ive been watching you forever!! Now that youve got a new rig, its time for you to sell me the old perception pescador so i can get into kayak fishing instead of bank fishing. Sincerely though,thank you so much for all the knowledge you've given.

Thanks so much for the support, I really appreciate it so much! And man I don't know my old Pescador Pilot has seen some things and has certainly seen better days. Haha I'm keeping it around as a back up for friends who don't mind potentially having to paddle back if the rudder cable gives out...

Do not let your drive fly up like that it will cause problems in the future. On my radar 115 there is a grey thumb screw to put tension on the drive so it can slowly come up without slaming like that. Also does the swivel seat lock into place or not?

I appreciate the tip. I actually slow it down with my foot now because it's so violent haha and it does not lock unless I'm missing something. It does have a couple bungees on the bottom to help keep it still if you want

Awesome fishing machine. CONGRATS on the new ride. Do you plan to haul it in a truck or on a trailer or...?

Thanks man! I've been rooftopping it so far actually. Works fine for me!

@@MakeTimeForFishing Oh to be young and still have your strength. One thing I learned about roof topping is, if you have your straps running through the car, and it rains, the water can run down the straps, in the door and onto the headliner. Luckily, it was a rental car lolololol.

Nice! I've had mine about 2 weeks and it's a workhorse so far! I'm considering getting an after market steering handle that'll be a little taller and maybe a beaver tail rudder down the line. But for now, I don't really see any mods I really need to do.

Been researching and shopping a peddle drive for a long time and have finally decided this is the one. Just found a 2023 for 2k but this one has so many improvements.. do you know if you can update to the swivel seat on older models?
@MakeTimeForFishing

Right on, I'd say it's a good choice! I'm honestly unsure if they're selling the seat separately or not. I think the way that the base of the sear screws in is the same so if you manage to get the seat I would imagine it could be backwards compatible

@@MakeTimeForFishingthanks. Yes, they aren’t listed for sale on their own as of yet.. but best I can tell it attaches the same
