Greg this strategy is 100% true for me. I used to eat a huge first meal and like you said, once I did a smaller meal, I was so much less hungry. Also, so true with not worth pushing the fast super long. My 500 calorie go to first meal is 3/4 cup greek yogurt, one scoop protein, 1 serving oats, half serving almonds and an apple. So easy to meal prep too. Try this strategy it truly works. Trust the process. Thank you greg for this strategy! Changed everything for me.

What I’m trying right now: Getting better at cardio which lets me eat more. Incline walking + elliptical and sometimes running. Going hard on those let’s me burn more calories per minute. Then eating 4- 5 meals spaced throughout the day. High volume meals and adding spinach to each meal.

A small tip for cardio, sprint if you can! Run as fast and as hard as you can as long as you can and do it in sets, slow it from a sprint between sets. You’ll be burning fat in your sleep and your metabolism will skyrocket. You’re welcome!
@Prakash-dn7vr

I have noticed that when it comes to fasting especially with kino programs it’s less about the benefit of fasting itself but more about the fact that you have a smaller window to eat, this is really good since you have a smaller eating window it’s harder to overeat and makes it much easier to be in a deficit and after a few weeks you get used to it and it becomes quite effortless, I’ve found that fasting truly does make my deficits significantly easier

Yeah, I agree. If I eat a big meal earlier in the day, I'll just eat big again later. Eating smaller meals early on, is easy. 100% agree with this. I'm still looking forward to the free Thor program. Been waiting a couple weeks now.

I do a smoothie and a green juice during the day personally. Just liquids makes it feel like I am still fasting, but I am getting so many nutrients that my hunger isn’t ravenous as if I ate a bunch of tempting, solid foods. I noticed once I eat something solid during the day that my hunger is uncontrollable and very easy to go over calorie deficit, but if I keep it super simple until 5 to 7pm for that big feast it’s a lot easier to stay in deficit. Then 3 hours or so before bed. I’m stuffed. Breaking a fast is truly an art form in of itself.

Warrior diet respects circadian rhythm. Example: in the morning ... high cortisol, low insulin is not a invitation to eat carbs ... it means your body is releasing all the carbs you need for your early morning activity. Evening: high insulin, low cortisol, means time to eat some carbs and store the excess to burn as fat tomorrow. Fat burns clean ... better to convert some carbs to fat for the clean burn!

Be mindful of how you feel and eat accordingly. It’s not magic. If you are more active during the day and need to eat to raise blood sugar levels …then eat!!! Look at your schedule. What times of day do you do your most cognitively and physically demanding work? Eat for performance during those times. Feed the activity, starve the inactivity. Muscle activation triggers glucose uptake without the need for so much insulin. Your body has to release more insulin to remove blood sugar when you are in an inactive state. Eat carbs before activities to lower insulin release requirements and partition carbs into muscles more efficiently over fat cells. Simple.

I've been doing fasting protocols for like a decade now. To me it gets easier and easier to fast with each passing year. I've even hit strength PR's lifting at 36-40hr into a 48hr extended fast. My only complaint to this day is large meals at night mess with your sex life. When I pound a 2-3K calorie meal, all I want to do is lay down. So when you want to see women at night, you're lazy AF after a massive dinner. LOL
