You're such an inspiration and SUCH an immense help to anyone trying to live a healthier lifestyle! You make, what used to be daunting and impossible, possible, if not easy AND enjoyable. Since I started watching your channel last year, I've researched, found recipes and tricks I love, started living more actively, started looking at labels, and I'm proud to let you know that I'm down four pant sizes, and I say from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all that you do! I'm a healthier person because of the hard work you do, and all of the time and care you put into each of your videos. I still have a ways to go before I reach my goal, but I'm just so happy that I've made the progress thus far, and I'm continually inspired to continue on this journey to optimum health because of your uploads! Congrats! You're the only person I know that makes interesting and fun-to-watch meal prep videos haha! I totally understand where people are coming from when they feel they don't have the time/resources to meal prep, it can seem really overwhelming and time consuming at first! I was there! I often eat the same thing every day until it's gone. If I like what I cooked, I'm perfectly happy to do that. Especially with breakfast and lunch, having it prepped and ready to go is key. A little repetition is a small price to pay for being able to grab something in the morning when I'm rushing out the door. But, I know there are people in the world who can't face the idea of eating the same thing every day. To each their own.

Love it! I keep a running list of all meat, fruit and veg I have in my freezer and meal plan around it. I try to cook double amounts so I can cook once, eat twice. I keep a list of all the meals I have in my freezer too so I can plan those on busy nights.

I prep or cook large portions in advance - scrambled eggs that eat for several days, salad stuff, proteins to mix with the salads. Also, my lunches for work.

Are these meals good to eat if your trying to lose weight / start a healthy lifestyle? I know of course everything looks great but it doesn't always mean it's actually great for you! This is the first video I'm watching of yours and I love it so far!

Sure! Certain foods aren't "good" or "bad" for weight loss, it's going to be more about your overall diet, finding balance, and overall lifestyle. But yes, these foods can certainly be incorporated into that healthy plan! You're right, things looking good doesn't always mean they are good for you, and that's why it's important to decipher what is what :) I'd suggest watching some of my educational format videos if you're looking for more insight into that, like "unhealthy healthy foods" or "healthy processed snacks" :) Welcome to the channel! Cheers

I just purchased your Beginner's Guide. It's great and does talk a little bit about time but I am curious if you have suggestions on how ot set up a schedule to prep and cook. Do you plan, shop and cook all in one day? What days of the week do you suggest?
@MindOverMunch
7 жыл бұрын
Great question! That one is tough to tackle because it is going to vary so much by the person. I personally HAVE to plan it out in advance or else I won't be efficient with my time or money. I usually make a list of meals (using the form in the eBook) so I know what I'm eating all week long, then compile that list into a grocery list of whatever I need. I usually shop and cook in the same day because I like to get back from the grocery store and just prep immediately, but again, that's just personal preference :)

Mind Over Munch- wow... that was such a speedy reply! How do you choose your grocery shopping days? Convenience? Freshness/selection? Also, do you consistently do each task on the same day of the week each week? What day of the week works best for you for cooking and why?

Great video, per usual! I was wandering if you could do a "how to choose protein powders" type of video? I find it overwhelming with the amount of protein powders out there, and trying to figure out which one has the best macros but still tastes good-ish! Also, do you use protein powders frequently or do you usually stick to your quest bars post work out? Thanks Alyssia, love your content!

I just made the burrito bowls and turned them into fajita bowl's! I roasted some bell pepper onion and garlic in the broiler while cooking the flank steak. I made some veggie some with chicken, with steak and some with a combo for my daughters and husband. my lunch is done for the week!

Hi Alyssia, I've been wondering about meal prepping for a while. When meal prepping, do you eat the same breakfast, lunch AND dinner all week long?! I've been meal prepping lunch with jar salads, but I tend to get sick of it on day four, let alone day five..
@MindOverMunch
8 жыл бұрын
It depends, you don't have to eat the same thing every day if you don't want. Like I said in the video, a lot of times I make a "bland" bowl where I just include protein, veggies and rice and then flavor it as I feel for the day. Keeps things interesting :) My meal prep eBook also discusses how to modify meals and plan out your schedule for meal prepping different types of foods :) Cheers
