@@lucadhagat9364 I was a "world music" DJ at RFG from August 1982 until the US invasion October 25, 1983. I lived at Carifta Cottages, near Grands Anse beach, about 200 yards from the main broadcast building. On the second day of the invasion, a helicopter gunship shot the Cottages to pieces. That same day, the RFG building was hit by U.S. missles--destroying the entire audio-archive of the nation of Grenada. THAT's why we do not have it. It was intentional erasure of Grenada's history.

I know we tend to shy away from the term communist paradise. But in this situation it is applicable! God the more I learn about the Granada Revolution the more angry I get that America meddled in this country. Killing both the people of the small country and several hundred Cuban troops who were there. The revolution majorly improved the living standards and infrastructure of the island which only had a population of about 100k, the size of a small US city. We just couldn't leave well enough alone. Fuck Regan. Death to America.
@LordDim1

@@parkercushingable By the time of the invasion the revolution was already going down the toilet due to infighting. Maurice Bishop was wildly popular, but he’d been overthrown and executed by hardliners within the NJM, who established a truly tyrannical and oppressive regime, with none of the support Bishop had had. The Grenadian people themselves were rising up against the new Revolutionary Military Council by the time America invaded

@TheSauronsservant

Christian Gjelstrup No, he was the previous president in Venezuela but died 3 years ago. He was also born in Venezuela. Though he got backing and support from both Bolivia and Cuba and he got much ideological inspiration from those two. Why it's called one hour Chavista music is because it's mostly songs from the socialist party which Chavez led and songs from his supporters which where called Chavista's hence the name. I totally understand why it sounds confusing. The video you requested was about general communist music in Venezuela, why I am mentioning Chavista music is since it was closely associated with other communist movements there and they also got pretty good songs. Hope this made sense :)
