I saw Janet Mcteer do this in the 90's. An astonishing performance.

Disagree. I had no issue with the minimal staging. I honestly didn’t miss it and am not sure how it would have made a big difference. It focused attention on the dialogue. People were leaning forward in their seats at the performance I attended. BTW, Okieriete Onaodawan played Hercules Mulligan/Alexander Hamilton in the original Broadway cast of Hamilton. Chastain was outstanding. She did not stay seated at the performance I attended.

I can not agree that Krogstad sitting upstage takes away the intimidation factor in the mentioned scene, as he moves closer and closer to Nora during the play, eventually sharing the ame chair, completely invading her private safe space that physical movement and position actually did add to the increasing sense of intimidation for me. (An other man's opinion)
