He’s an entrepreneur, not a philanthropist. Why should he become a landlord when he could become a business owner? Being a landlord is a headache in a half, especially with squatters rights being a thing.

Ok…but he’s still opening for-profit businesses. I think there should be funding to give grants to people who own empty homes to fix them up. The grant will come with the condition to allow someone homeless to live in the property. There would be countless details to work out. But empty houses would get fixed up and occupied while getting people off the streets.
