💀 Edit: do you guys want to hear a disgusting story about spiders and centipedes? A few girlfriends ago... I found a beautiful girl who was living all alone on earth, no family no friends, she was younger than me, and very much still a kid at heart... She was living in a cheap run down dilapidated basement apartment... SWARMING with HUGE centipedes and overgrown spiders... She thought we were just going to fuck at first but I fell in love with her as soon as I saw her... Short cute hair, perfect smile, smoked weed just like me, great taste in music, slender body, no noticable ass or bulging tits to speak of, but those things did not matter. She was friendly, energetic, sometimes.. she would hold me down and tickle me for absolutely no reason... She didn't know anything, green as a cabbage... she told me her stove didn't work, turns out she just didn't know how to use a stove... I taught her how to. She didn't know how to do dishes, I taught her how to do dishes, I showed her how. She didn't know how to do laundry, I showed her how as well. She didn't know how to call and set up her own wifi... I showed her that too. She NEEDED someone like me in her life... I hesitate to say this.. but She was an orphan. I showed her how to roll a blunt, and a joint, and how to pack a proper bong and how to hit it, I taught her how to clean and cook and how to stay focused in life, I showed her so many things...and she told me I saved her life... I wish I could have manned up and told her that she was the one who saved me.... 💔 I never felt useful in life before, I never felt needed or wanted, I never felt truly loved before I met this girl... Anyway on to the disgusting part. I stepped on a HUGE HAIRY centipede in her apartment, AND THE OTHER HALF RAN AWAY... There was also a huge nasty spider that lived under the fridge, I killed that for her too. She was mortally afraid of these insects, like mortally afraid, I don't like spiders centipedes or bats either, I was afraid of them too, but nothing hurts my girl.. I manned up and killed every centipede I could, every spider too. There was even invisible bugs that bite and drew blood in the couch, I bought some fogger spray and nuked the whole basement apartment and got us a hotel for a few days while it aired out. I loved this girl with all my heart... On her birthday I didn't have any extra money at ALL because I was supporting her and me by myself, food, bills, etc..., so I explained the situation to my boss, and I begged her to loan me 20$. At the end of the night when we were cuddling in bed I told her look, I'm sorry I didn't get you anything for your birthday... She smiled at me and said it's ok, you spent the whole day with me, that's worth more than anything to me.... Then, I pulled out the yellow flower I bought her at the store, a box of chocolates, and revealed that I had gotten her a small cake and a pint of ice cream all for her to enjoy... She smiled extra big... And held me down and tickled me some more... And said "I love you" and shared her cake and ice cream with me... I have tried to move on, I have tried to forget about her, I have tried to accept it... I have tried to bang other females and clear my head... It's been YEARS... And I still miss her and think about her every single day... It feels like I lost my child... I loved her with all my heart, all my soul, I've tried to move past it, but I can't forget about that beautiful perfect girl all alone in that cold, bug infested basement apartment... Even when I was dating other girls, I felt guilty because I knew if she ever came back I would go to her... Being with her was like having my own personal star plucked from the heavens sitting right next to me... I don't have much longer guys I can feel it. This is real talk... I want it known throughout the universe that I loved her until my very last breath.

They're not a defensive or even aggressive species at all. The lethal venom and strong feeding response are needed in a place where prey animals are rare. The English name six-eyed sand spiders is used for members of the genus, particularly Hexophthalma hahni. Species in the genus have necrotic (dermonecrotic) venom, and can potentially cause serious or even life-threatening wounds. Its nearest relatives are the Recluse spiders (Loxosceles) which are found worldwide. The Six Eyed Sand Spider is also known as the six-eyed crab spider due to its flattened stance and laterigrade legs. The venom of this spiders bite is said to be the most dangerous on record.

They are cute spiders and they make great pets. I use to have one and she never tried to attack me and she was happy in her sand. I loved watching her rebury herself after I cleaned her house. She was my only spider that never got upset with me cleaning her house. She sat in a clear plastic box I got for her so I didn't have to worry about her while I cleaned. They are smart too. Very similar to a cat. They are not very active until you feed them though. It does depend on their personalities. My Spidey booped my finger when I reached out to her, she was right handed too she used her right legs a lot more. I miss my Spidey. It's been 20+ years since I kept spiders and lizards.

@Hi I'm Pix L no, not true. Poison and venom are both neurotoxin / toxin but they aren't the same. Technically. Venom is if it bites/stings you and you get sick/die Poison is is you bite it or ingest it and you get sick or die It's like saying pine trees are birch trees. Which isn't true. But both birch and pine are trees. Venom can be considered a Poison if the person affected ingests the venom. (Though that's not factual so venom would still be accurate even if the venom had been ingested) My point is that venom isnt Poison nor Poison is venom. But, they are both types of toxins. And if you don't no if something is venomous or poisonous just say "it's toxic" because you can't be wrong either way if you say that.

The spider would have to be very self aware to realize that burrowing like this is effective. At some point, serious thought had to be put into it, you can even see it rethink it's depth in the sand. I'm starting to think even insects like this are way more intentional and self aware than we believe. They don't just operate in instinct alone.

Not really. That would imply that it's a learned behavior, something either taught to it or learned on its own. But if every spider of this species does this (and as far as I'm aware, spider parents aren't big on teaching) then it's an instinctual behavior. It could learn how to _improve_ its technique over time, but the actual burrowing itself is definitely instinct.

It's not self aware. It's just a genetic program it runs based on it's ancestors who survived that had a gene mutation resulting in this behaviour. The idea that it is self aware is a logical patterinicity fallacy because it appears to be thinking, but really we are just psychologically projecting/anthropomorphizing it's behaviour.
