Yeah you start to have these spinals when it's over 50 basically, I would say it is 54/57 rather 😅 Very ballsy, at the same time I don't get the point of that, I woul prefer a good line where you can enjoy some good tricks and turns rather than just fighting against speed and gravity. That picture gives the viewer an emotional appreciation for the mountain the rider is about to go down. In a normal 2d photo the steepness never looks impressive. It’s much scarier in person

The steepness of the face is between 50 and 55 degrees. Me as an amateur/non-sponsored rider already snowboarded down the face, it's Obergabelhorn north face in Switzerland. You can find a video of the descent on my channel, but obviously didn't ride as fast as Jeremy (conditions were pretty icy though).

This is the Obergabelhorn, in the beautiful Val d’Anniviers in Wallis, Switzerland. An impressive pyramid shaped summit just above 4000 m The summit in the background is the famous Matterhorn and its characteristic « flat top » when seen from Anniviers. To me this is one of the most beautiful valleys in Switzerland. I look forward to being there next week

Top alpinists these days are working pitches in the low to mid-60 degrees, but on anything much steeper, it becomes very difficult to maintain your ski's contact with the snow. In fact, snow's “angle of repose,” the greatest tilt at which snow can stick to the slope, is, at most, 75 or so degrees.
