I know everyone is saying to watch the anime, but I really enjoyed your blind reactions to the live action and think it would be real cool if you experienced the One Piece story though it. I wouldn’t be upset either if y’all do start it, I’m sure those videos would be great but I love these videos of people who love the show and don’t constantly compare it all the time to the anime/manga and just let themselves enjoy it. @@robertwallen1582 *Spoilers* Franky has a great backstory and even better emotional depth. He messed up as a boy/young man getting his adoptive father killed. Im glad you guys liked Garp. I personally really love him too. I personally found it made sense for his to turn up here cause East Blue is his home and he has influence there. He's such a cool character and you know he loves and is grudgingly proud of his family but also is very much a Marine and a believer of Justice. Pretty complex character. Theres one scene in the manga of him that always makes me tear up and Im hoping if the Live Action ever makes it there that its included.

I always assumed (and it blew my mind that others didn't) that he was in the area to pick up Luffy. Like, there's a reason Luffy left as soon as his birthday and part of it was the promise, but the other was Gramps is coming. Boy was getting the hell out of dodge before he was forcefully enlisted - and Garp was heading towards Goa in order to pick him up (I'm putting money on it). So this adaptation of having Garp chasing Luffy down didn't feel out of place to me - seemed exactly like what Garp would do if he arrived at Fusha village and found Luffy wasn't there to be enlisted. XD
@0203darkstar

@@7thlittleleopard7 it's like a headcanon for me that it makes sense Garp tries to stop him in East Blue here especially with the line of not calling other Marines for help in a past episode. Can still drag Luffy back and hide his little adventures while in the East Blue where he has influence.

27:40 youre very right. For example, the Garp and Zeff conversation in ep 7 is extremely fitting for the 2 characters and the world of One Piece, where the New Generation theme is super important. Its honestly my favorite moment of the Live Action, and it was not even in the manga, in fact Garp and Zeff never met. Thats what happens when the directors and the mangaka work together to be loyal to the source material.

This adaptation was amazing it broke so many live action curses we’re so used to and I can’t wait for season 2 since it was confirmed to be already written, but part of me is sad knowing the live action will probably never finish the story of one piece, I think it would take far too long and cost too much money for Netflix but who knows, I hope it continues to go on for as long as it can and keep the same level of quality and integrity

This is what happens when the people working on the show loves and respect the source material and involves the author of the manga itself. I saw many changes they've made in the live action, but the changes made sense because there are some aspect of anime you just can't translate into live action, and they know that. One thing I liked the most in the live action is how they made Zoro so sassy and Sanji changed into a rizz boi rather than simp boi. And the cast is perfect.

Luffy's concept of being a pirate is tied to freedom, not the typical things you would associate with being a pirate. He just wants to do what he wants. I believe season one covered around 45 episodes. Not to mention whole fights, characters, stories and filler were skipped so really it was like 30-35 episodes. Either way I think they did a great job fs. I'm hoping Netflix green lits the second season as soon as possible cuz the actors gonna be lookin older than they should be by like season 5 (300 episodes in) which would only cover 1/4 of the story assuming they don't skip whole acts. If you do find yourselves too eager to wait then I believe season 2 will start from the last third of episode 47 (The beginning has a recap on Buggie after he got flung in episode 2. This was skipped/changed in the Live Action). I also recommend looking up a list online that indicates which arcs (ep x - to - ep y) are and aren't cannon because I highly doubt any of the filler content in One Piece will make it into the Live Action for the sake of time, and this'll generally help you get through the story faster.

I wouldn’t recommend on waiting for the live action series as there could be many factors that may change Netflix to continue or cancel the show. I’d recommend starting your One Piece journey from either the manga or anime as they are the source materials to make the live action. If you want to better understand the depth of the story, back ground of each character, and better understanding of Oda sensei’s beautiful world that he built, you’d understand why One Piece has a huge and loyal following and I honestly think you can’t get that feeling from just the live action. Don’t get me wrong live action was done beautifully with what little episodes the producers and actors were given, but there is a lot of major information and depth to story that had to be cut to compact the story in a timely manner. In other words, the east blue saga has many many other stories that the live action did not put in… as a long standing One Piece fan I am happy that we are getting new Nakamas to our One Piece fandom and community but it would be a shame to just end your One Piece journey basing it on just the live action… There’s a reason why Oda Sensei is being herald as the story Telling genius he is, it’s because the One piece world he built, all the characters, the stories and adventures is truly an experience of a lifetime once you get hooked and immerse yourself into the One Piece world. So please like what my fellow Straw Hat Nakama are saying… You don’t need to be intimidated by how many episodes there are… once you get to where we are, you’d start to worry and hope that the adventures does not end. So don’t be afraid and set your sails for the Grand Line! And as all die hard One Piece fans say… Let’s meet in the land of Wano at any cost!

This is the first breakout live action anime adaption ever created. Everything before, even the one or two that don't totally suck, pale in comparison. If this were a euphemism this is like when videogames went from 2D to 3D. Expect not only another season ( there are whispers they already filmed the second season but held off on all the editing and special effects till they knew how well this worked) but also for Hollywood to see this and capitalize on it.
