Been my favorite character since i was reading impel down/marineford as it happened. Remember how hyped i was when at the end of fishman island luffy asked him to join. And i impatiently waited for years and years. And then suddenly WCI was coming out and an off screen character mentioned his name... This is was it, and then he joined and then he stayed behind... and i had to wait even more time. I read chapter 976 so many times, hype beyond belief. 8 1/2 years of waiting but Jinbe is finally part of the crew. What a worthy theme for the GOAT

We first heard his name all the way back in the East Blue, simultaneously the first we ever heard of the Seven Warlords, and at that time it was only in passing relation to the immediate threat of Arlong. How far we've come since then!

Definitely similarly inspired, but I don't really see any other similarities. Way more brass and rolling flows than Naruto ever used.

@AnimeSev3en Uhh... yeah, that's what I already said... I'll assume English isn't your first language and that there's a misconception here because of that. I said that they were similarly inspired and then you just said that they're similar and that this one piece song was inspired by japanese music. You just repeated me and then acted like we disagreed...

So the similarity you are hearing is mostly because of the shamisen instrument (the plucky sounding instrument). Naruto OST uses a lot of this instrument. Like, a LOT. But the similarities pretty much end there, as Banks said. I wouldn't even go as far as to say inspired, because firstly, "japanese music" isn't a genre. There's every type of music in Japan, the same as in every country. If you meant traditional japanese music, there are still different genres but instrumentally-wise it'd be a lot more accurate. That said, this piece is made up of a shamisen, modern drums, and orchestra. (Not trying to be disagreeable, just pointing out that the generalization is a bit inaccurate, since if you listen to any traditional Japanese music it sounds literally nothing like this, besides the possible use of the shamisen). But to compare One Piece OST and Naruto OST is not quite correct, because the Naruto score is actually made up of rock-style music but with oriental instruments and pentatonic melodies, whereas the One Piece score is mostly more cinematic-sounding orchestra pieces, with a few variations. To your credit (@lmfao) this particular OST does sound much more oriental than all of the other One Piece ost's, but not in the same way that Naruto soundtracks are oriental. This OST is powered by the moving drumkit line, and the strings play a slow moving melodic line, in sharp contrast to Naruto's much more fast-moving melodies, and incorporation of rock elements. If you want a better comparison, this soundtrack has similar instrumentation to You Say Run from MHA (albeit without the oriental influence) of orchestra with modern drums. Just wanted to leave this here for anyone interested in music and orchestration.
