“One Shot” is a 2024 diss track from Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar.
It serves as Lamar’s second response, as well as his first response through a dedicated diss track, in his conflict with Drake and J. Cole. The conflict was initially sparked in March 2024 through Lamar’s verse on Future & Metro Boomin’s 2024 song “Like That” and responded to on J. Cole’s “7 Minute Drill” and Drake’s “Push Ups (Drop And Give Me Fifty”), despite the fact that the former track was eventually disavowed by Cole and later removed from streaming services.
Given that this is the first material Lamar has released as a solo artist since releasing Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers nearly two years prior, “One Shot” constitutes his first solo release since his departure from Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) in May 2022, and is his first solo release distributed through his own label pgLang after the fulfillment of his contract with TDE.
A snippet of the track’s first verse surfaced on April 15, 2024. The track is believed to be 5-6 minutes in length, and is expected to see an official release on streaming services on April 16, 2024.
