Hope you all enjoyed this little look through COD Zombies! Like I said at the end, I'm curious as to what little things y'all love about Zombies as well! BTW, If I sound different between certain segments, it's because I recorded a lot of this on separate days. I TRIED to make it all sound similar, but I sound slightly different literally every time I record and sometimes even in the same session. soz lol Update time: I feel like I say this every time but, its been a hot minute, huh? The IWZ retrospective was supposed to be next I know and this video was actually supposed to be out in April, but creative burnout is a bitch. I haven't the faintest as to when the next video will be out either since I've been spending most of my free time making render art or playing completely different games like Bayonetta and Ultrakill, plus I'm still kinda burnt-out. Could be next month. Could be when Outbreak 2 comes out in November. Who knows? Regardless of what's next and when, I'm really happy with how this video turned out and I hope you all enjoyed watching it. Take care, everyone :)

As a Bo1 Veteran. And an 9 year old at Release. I was young and was a little History Buff. And part of me when they saw that said. "Are they surrendering?" And that gave me nightmares. Because imagine that. Your an American in a Trench somewhere. Shotgun in hand. And you hear sick men groaning. You peak over the trench to observe what could be a trap. But you see dozens of sick. Ill and dieing men. Surrendering from your angle. Now imagine after all that they notice the eyes. No one on GODS EARTH is gonna know that their 115-Infested. At first. But that's gonna make a man shiver. And then hes gonna have to think. "Can I even shoot these sick, surrendering men?" Before they get close and it's either too late; or they hear the screams and begin fireing... We know how Origins went.

One of my favorite things about Classified is the continuation of Dr. Schuster from his story arc from Moon. Listening to the radios and learning about how he was adjusting to his new work environment, while also listening to how the US Government was learning about the zombie outbreaks on Kino and Shang. The calling card like intros for each map look amazing, great work! I'm a pretty big zombies fan myself but you told me stuff here that I didn't even realize like how the dentist chair vision in Kino is actually Verruckt before the outbreak. No idea how I didn't get that, it's extremely obvious looking back. Also glad you talked about the non Treyarch maps too. While I haven't played the second half of AW's maps and every single IW map outside of Spaceland, I still love talking about those maps and it sucks that so many zombie youtubers just ignore them or mock them to hell and back. I'm not saying they HAVE to be fans of those maps or experiences, I just think it gets really boring when people just talk about the Treyarch maps over and over again. Overall fantastic video!

15:35 my favorite thing about Revelations is the song. “The Gift” composed/produced by Kevin Sherwood, with Elena Siegman. Elena’s vocals are so good. She’s been killing it since Lullaby of a Deadman and for Kevin oh my god he KILLS with it the electric guitar. Absolutely shredding it. The song is so hype, jumpy, and fucking epic. The lyrics OH MY GATTT. That’s one thing I love about all zombies maps is always looking forward for each new song. I was pretty disappointed with Cold wars music. “Alone” WAS A BANGER! Firebase’s song pretty cool. Maur Der Toten was just a copyrighted song. And Forsaken song while i get the reference. I just wish we got some Metal dude. Metal and zombies just goes together like peanut butter and jelly. Except for shadows the jazz in that went hard. I THINK it’s the only zombies map 2 and half songs. Well “Snakeskin boots” has two version the instrumental and lyrical. And the second song is cold hard cash and it’s so good. Holy fuck.

As usual, you dropped an absolute banger with this video! I loved the whole thing, but there were two moments that particularly stuck out to me, that I'll list below! 1. Your favorite moment in Der Eisendrache being the end cutscene, and the fact that it is the first time that Zombies had an emotionally effecting moment. I cheered when I saw that, as it's my favorite moment in that map, too! Playing BOI, and seeing Ultimis be these silly stereotypes of WWII soldiers from their respective countries was funny, no doubt, but I guess I subconsciously thought that that was what Zombies would always be. But then that cutscene came in, and it made me see these characters in a new, mature light, which is a credit to both the writing in BOIII Zombies, and the performances of Nolan North, Steve Blum, Fred Tatasciore and Tom Kane! Everything about that scene: Dempsey's resignation in not wanting to, but needing to, be the one to kill his alternate self; Richtofen's taking a chance on Dempsey and letting him be the one to push the button; and then Richtofen's hesitation in putting a hand on Dempsey's shoulder to try and comfort him, a very human action that seemed like Richtofen had never done with anyone before, it's sheer perfection. And then having Richtofen's quote from Revelations, "When I died, I felt nothing. When Dempsey died, I felt... something. When Takeo died, I knew I had to try to save them." (which I've memorized from watching your The Gift Director's Cut video constantly), come in to crystallize the power of that moment for him, was amazing and really built on what that moment meant, both for him and for the many of us watching that cutscene for the first time. 2. 27:32! That brilliant edit of letting Samantha's Peace fade out perfectly into the round change (at least, I'm pretty sure what that was) of Die Maschine and CWZ as a whole! I never would have heard that natural progression, and I'd be very curious how you figured that connection out, but I'm pretty sure some Treyarch employee is cheering that someone out there got what they were trying to connect in those two pieces of music! Seriously, it was perfect, and made such a natural transition from BOIIII to CW that made me appreciate even more the care and craft you put into every single video you upload. Sorry for an extremely long message, but I truly appreciated this video, and I'll be there the next time you upload your next video! Hope you have a great rest of your day, too, and thanks again!

Always a treat to see you upload, also quite nice to have a Zombies video that's 100% positive. We don't get those much on KZitem. Which is probably for the best, but hey, good to have one every now and then! Also ay, BD/Lhugueny references! Ya love to see it. Even the worst of maps have a variety of things that make them special to play. So much time and effort spent on making each map feel unique. I really like that about this series, and you showcase that really well in your reviews. There's always a variety of good things to talk about, even if the bad sometimes outweighs it. My favorite little thing in general about the mode is how different the vibe of the map can get depending on which specific crew member you are. Richtofen going insane and reciting a lot of his Ultimis counterparts quotes on The Giant, Sam shit talking Richtofen upon him reaching Groom Lake in Classified, the Stulinger+Richtofen dynamic on all of the victis maps (lot of Richtofen stuff, huh), etc. One of the main reason I love the crews so much, you really get to feel like you're looking at the map through their eyes in the best case scenario. Great vid, per usual! Looking forward to whatevers next

7:14 If I had to guess, it’s probably due to licensing of the guns. Considering it’s literally named the “HK416” in the files, it’s possible they just never bothered to get the license to use it (since it is just *one* gun). Either that, or they just ported over the assets for it as a test weapon, and forgot to remove it or forgot to make it a playable weapon.

@@goldentoparican788 I know he wasn't keen on his old videos, but I thought the were brilliant. It was a time capsule of his channel and it just wastes months of effort for trying to cover up a slightly more passive aggressive commentary style that doesn't reflect his channel's style now. It's such a waste. They should've stayed up to show how much he's grown, not hidden away like an embarrassing photo from high school of when you had acne. Show the change, embrace it. Plus, they were really entertaining and funny. Every KZitem improves with time, but history is just as important for self reflection. Plus, old videos can still earn money and subs, even if not as much. Well, not like he cared about those anyway, he did say he only made videos because he enjoyed doing so. I don't use social media so I have no idea what he's up to now, but it's worrying he's not even made a music video in years. The dude has an audience and could make a lot of money, I just can't understand people throwing that away or not taking advantage personally. It's such a blessed position to be In.

If I had to list one thing I liked about any of them...I'd say...hearing Bruce Campbell in a Zombies Map, Sure his character may not be good, but hearing Bruce Campbells Voice in a Zombies map makes me smile :) (I'd list more but I'd be here all day) Also I'm with you on having an affinity for AI and Robot Characters in media, K-9 from Doctor Who was a Treasure and is still one of my favorite Robot Characters in Media

One thing that I do genuinely love (and at the same time kinda hate) are the stupidly complex easter egg puzzles, under the right circumstance anyway. Things like the Venom-X which require outside knowledge suck, but puzzles where you're given all you need and are told "all right, figure it out" are really neat. For example, the Origins Staffs. You poked fun at them in the video (understandably so) but they are genuinely good puzzles that make you feel accomplished for solving them instead of just looking up the guide again. Once you figure out that the symbols from the wind and fire steps are essentially their own number system, which then allows you to match them for the ice staff step, it just feels like such a big brain moment. Kinda makes me wish the Lightning upgrade was more connected to the other ones than just being sheet music, but still. They'd be even neater if they implemented ways of doing it without being swiped at constantly, but that's more a fault of the mode not adapting than the steps themselves.

The Origin's staffs are not really learnable in game, you NEED a guide for that and no one I have ever heard or met has figured it out naturally at all. HOWEVER once you know it it becomes much much much more repeatable and feels rewarding not just because you got the good weapon, but because you now know what those steps are and can repeat them much much easier next time

@@commander_eaa2862 Believe me, they are learnable and intuitive to figure out, the biggest issue is the zombie that chases your ass 24/7. After years of following guides and remembering... well, nothing (outside the Lightning Staff cause it's just a keyboard), I took it upon myself to go into a game without any guides and figure out how they work without trial and error. Took some time for sure, but they're completely doable to solve. Maybe I'm not the best person to say that, cause I am still a veteran player who has done the easter egg before even if I never knew how the upgrades work, but knowing the logic behind it does make me believe someone can learn these on their own, as all the tools they need are in front of them in the map, compared to something like morse code steps which require you to know morse code.

@@trixstudio7134 I think that just further adds towards Rizzo's point in his review of Origins: The inherent design of Zombies does not synergize with the type of fetch quest that requires standing still in a localized position whilst trying to understand what the crap you're looking at (barring exceptions like Buried, but even that example means little when Buried's easter egg is garbao).
@commander_eaa2862

@@trixstudio7134 Yea that's what I mean, its repeatable, no new player will understand them at first until they have instructions. Yes the logic does make mostly sense, but from what I know its just a lot of vagueness that forces you to look up a guide. Also yes you are right about these puzzles not belonging in a CoD Zombies game because it hurts the flow so bad

@@GeneralSouthParkFan I kinda like Buried tho 😥 But yeah I 100% agree, if maps or the mode itself had some feature that allowed the player to do these steps without zombies bothering you, I think they would be much better received, think something like Arthur holding a crawler or the claw plant in Zetsubou. Most of the puzzle steps aren't really a problem imo, but I'm certainly not defending that aspect cuz it's fucking annoying, even for someone like me who loves the puzzles.

If I had to choose one thing from across zombies it would have to be weapon verity/customization. Whether your going in armed to the teeth or with the basic starting pistol there was a little something for everyone. Shoutout for pap names over the years too.

9:43 Man, you reminded me of my child self. My dad never bought me and my brothers any dlc for blacks ops 2 and I heard about this "story mode" for zombies so i searched thru KZitem to no avail. Turns out what I was looking for was origins and I needed to pay up.

Okay. So I'm probably like the only person who unironically LOVES Vanguard Zombies. I could go on for days talking about stuff I love from each map! With the mode in general, I LOVE how much more alive the operators feel compared to Cold War ones! Reacting to Easter egg steps, having log quotes for kills and picking certain items up, it's great! Also, having the main characters (The DA gods) have an active role in the story by being your field upgrades make them feel like so much more than "the voice in your head" like the Cold War Requiem team. Damned 5 I'd argue is the best version of the main zombies theme we've gotten EVER. We also got Mommy Saraxis who I PRAY shows up again one day. With Der Anfang, as you mentioned, the environment design is AWESOME! Love how several MP maps like Red Square and Hotel Royal actually have lore reasons for being in Vanguard aside from being reused assets! With Terra Maledicta, it's great to finally see a desert environment in a zombies game. You COULD argue we had Buried in BO2 and IX in BO4, but those were colosseum and mine/environments moreso. With Shi No Numa, as the biggest Saraxis simp, having a whole map dedicated to her with tons of lore is AWESOME, especially knowing that her child might very well be tied to Richthofen's kid that was alluded to in Cold War. Also loving how the Chaos Story is made retroactively canon to the Dark Aether story! With Archon, we got our first official gay character in the form of Professor Kraft, the Krotifex boss fight is easily the best Treyarch Boss fight since Valentina, and arguably TM works VERY well as a Round based map! I would love to see the covenant system return in a future COD game, and I hope the rumors of MWIII this year having zombies too is true!

One thing I really love about Alpha Omega is the Easter Egg... no, not the steps themselves. Rather the difficulty being a mixture of older games and Cold War: you are being told WHAT to do by Rushmore, but not HOW to do them, and many of the steps have simple logic behind them that takes some ingenuity to deduce.
