I wasn't expecting it to be that good! Looks superb on my big screen, your shots are a very good ad for it, thanks.

I shoot mainly circus and have a Z6 II with the 24-120 f4 as my lens. I was thinking of something with a bit more reach but can't quite push the button on the Tamron. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for watching. I'm not sure if I mentioned it in the video or not, however there is a difference in focus speed between the Tamron and the Nikon 24-120. The Nikon is faster at least when shooting birds. I would suspect it would be the same indoors for fast moving objects in a circus. Also, because the Tamron is not a constant F4 like the Nikon, be aware that you will lose one or more stops of light. Thanks again.

For my landscape shooting, my 16-35mm Nikon lens was pretty much glued to my D810 for years. With the switch to the Z8 in December, of course, the first lens I bought was the 14-30mm. Then I had a new idea. I prefer to shoot primes, so last year in New Zealand, I brought a 105mm to shoot the long distances on the south island when my ultra-wide needed a rest and to give me more diverse shots. Unfortunately, I found 105mm way too short most of the time. So, for my upcoming trip to New Zealand at the end of this month, I got the Nikon 100-400mm for the Z8. It gives me a lot more choice that I've ever had in terms of telephoto distances. While most of my landscape work will likely be shot with my ultra-wide, I plan on using the longer lens a lot. Well see how it works out.

Hey Marcus, good to hear from you again. I'll be curious to see how much you use the 100-400 versus the 14-30. I almost picked up the 14-30 this week from someone wanting a quick sale but I decided to stay with the 20mm prime for my wider images. I find that many of my landscapes end up being 20mm (though there have been times I wish I had something wider) or in the 40-55mm range. When I venture out to the Tetons or Alaska, I seem to return with many shots taken in the that 40-55mm range. I suspect my trip to Iceland will be the same but who knows. Good luck with New Zealand. That's on my bucket list right behind Iceland. I think I'll use the Tamron if I see any puffins on the cliffs near Vik or possibly some distant shots for panos.
