This video shows how to test the hall sensors on a Onewheel Hypercore motor that came out of a XR+. I have converted this board to a VESC controller and TorquePack battery supply, but still have the original motor.
When I initially tried to do motor config, the VESC tool failed to discover the hall sensors on the motor. Initially I realized I had the foot pad and hall sensor pulgs reversed, but even after correcting this error the motor config failed.
I opened up the controller box, and tested each hall sensor at the Lil Focer circuit board, and one seemed to have failed. So I opened the motor and tested the hall sensors directly. I was really just trying to avoid removing the PCB and replacing the hall sensors.
As shown in the video, all hall sensors tested OK on the motor. I reinstalled the motor, and ran Motor Config again in VESC tool and to my surprise and excitement, it worked!!
Though I still have an unsolved mystery as to why my motor would not config initially, I hope this video helps someone diagnose their Hypercore issues.
Float on my friends!
