It's hard to let go of because you'd even say hello to a stranger walking by you on the footpath while in Poland it ain't as common. It really makes you feel a part of the community. I miss ya Éire ❤

Man, that would be a hell of a culture shock for me if I were to visit Europe. I'm from Oklahoma, and sometimes you just hold the door open for someone and get to chatting. In that brief moment, it's like they're your best friend in the world, and you never even learn their name.

I'm glad you had positive experiences here .. sadly there have been some very shameful attacks on non-nationals, which have resulted in deaths...one recent attack on an eastern-european man in his early 30's,who was assaulted apparently for not speaking English...he died...his noble family donated his organs, so others could live. I'm saddened by the way this society is gone, and continues to go...my personal view is "substance abuse" is the catalyist for a lot of it...an elderly American tourist was assaulted and knocked to the ground in Killarney last week...her bag was taken...apparently she suffered a fractured arm....these are just two examples from a long list, over the last few years....I advise any person travelling here to please do so BUT be mindful of your personal safety and take the same precautions as you would in any country --there's an undesirable element in this society now... saddens me to say it...I know similar things happen in many countries, but the days of "Darby O'Gill and the little people" are a long-distant memory....DO visit Ireland BUT take the same precautions as you would anywhere.
