Of all the types of jam, I like jams the most, I like their uniform smooth texture and the absence of pieces of berries or fruits in them. Therefore, for the winter, I stock up on jams 😊 I make jams from berries and fruits that grow in my garden. This year I don’t have a lot of plums, but it was enough to make some jam. I froze part of the plum for the winter, part went to pies and just to eat, and the overripe plum went to the jam. Therefore, this plum jam is very thick, it has the consistency of marmalade. This plum marmalade can be used in baking as a filling, it will not run in the dough. You can cook pies, pies, etc. with it. Or just eat it like marmalade 😊
Preparing plum jam marmalade is very simple, you need a plum, most of it should be overripe, and sugar. Below are the quantities needed. If your plum is not soft and overripe, but hard, then increase the cooking time by about 30 - 60 minutes. The readiness of jam can be determined by putting a small amount of jam on a saucer and drawing a line over it with a spoon. The trace of the spoon should not disappear immediately 😊
I cook plum jam - marmalade in a saucepan with a thick bottom over medium heat, since the flame temperature of my small stove is about the same as that of a large fire of a stationary stove 😊 In general, select the strength of fire based on the characteristics of your stove. Jam should boil vigorously throughout the cooking time. And, since after adding sugar, the process of active foaming begins, choose a larger pan so that the jam does not run away.
I pour the finished marmalade into jars like jam and close the lids like a regular preservation. Therefore, it can be stored both at room temperature and in a cool place, for example, in a refrigerator. I keep all my canned goods in the cellar 😊
You can pour marmalade into a tray of a suitable volume, just do not make a very thick layer, let the marmalade harden, cut it into pieces, roll them in sugar, and the marmalade is ready as in the store. Only this plum marmalade tastes better and is completely natural. Unfortunately, marmalade prepared in this way is not stored for a long time, so I pour marmalade into jars and store it for 2-3 years until we eat it 😊
