Just came across your video. Very cool! Which mine is this? I am a geologist working in Ontario. I used to work in several Ontario gold mines and exploration projects. I believe the purple/grey/metallic mineral is Molybdenite. It's often an indicator of metals such as gold, silver, and copper.

At the first gold mine in Ontario, the fellow was looking for copper and started a copper mine. He blasted about 30 yards from his original hole and fell into a cavern at the bottom and there he found gold. So copper and gold can certainly be associated. Iron too.

I worked at a mine where gold was seen microscopically within the pyrite cleavage planes. There was also free gold that was sometimes (but rarely) visible to the naked eye. I know they are expensive but assays will tell you what you are dealing with. You could make a composite of the best samples from an outcrop and send that for analysis to better cover the outcrop and save money. I would always turn the sample in the light. Pyrite would change in yellowness and brightness while gold would not and would stay yellow.
