That last story- oof. That poor kid. That man is something else to just ditch a kid like that. It depends on the state regarding paternity and child support. Some states have laws that if you're married and your wife has a baby with someone else, you're still on the hook for child support even if it's proven that the child isn't yours. In general, parents can sign away their parental rights if they don't want any custody or financial responsibility. Laws just vary by state.

I don’t think dad is the asshole. Yes his view has changed but he’s going through a whirlwind of emotions. He’s probably in shock from what’s going on and since he raised the child no wonder the news hit him like a ton of bricks. Imagine going to visit your sister in law after she gives birth and she reveals life changing news. Are going to ignore how despite what wife did, he didn’t put in his wife’s face that her sister told him. Not saying breaking a father-son relationship is ok, but he didn’t do that.. the wife did. Wife knew the consequences were going to be a broken marriage thus she only confided in her sister hoping she wouldn’t tell… that’s a lot to put on the sister as well. No wonder she felt the guilt erupt on the day she herself gave birth…. All round sad situation if true. OP parents are probably also more traditional since he mentions English isn’t his first language.

37:59 the kingdom of hawaii was ABSOLUTELY colonized as the land was never legally transferred to the united states by the hawaiian people or government and was instead taken by coup. many native hawaiians still consider their land to be illegally occupied and refuse to be referred to as american. in 1993 US Congress admitted this in Public Law 103-150 which quote "acknowledges that the overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawaii occurred with the active participation of agents and citizens of the United States and further acknowledges that the Native Hawaiian people never directly relinquished to the United States their claims to their inherent sovereignty as a people over their national lands, either through the Kingdom of Hawaii or through a plebiscite or referendum" as for alaska the morality of foreign countries buying and selling land without the input of its native inhabitants is highly questionable. russia colonized alaska and we bought it from them, not the inuit people who lived there for thousands of years. (edit: listening back i’m realizing that what josh said about colonizing was about the alaskan purchase and not hawaii, although i think christian was confused by that too. it’s still important information to know as an american that you wouldn’t have been taught in school though so im not going to delete my whole comment)

Last Story - I think I disagree with you guys on the last story. I may not have done the same thing as that guy but he did what he felt he needed to do. But also, this is why you always get a DNA test at birth before you sign anything. No matter what the mother says get the DNA test. Also you don't even need the mother for a DNA test.

An Act of War is an excellent documentary on the illegal takeover of the Native Hawaiian government by white American missionary descendants and the US military. The bill they used to annex Hawai’i was also completely illegal and doesn’t have the capacity to be applied to other nations. Hawaii also did not even get the option of independence when they voted on statehood or remaining a territory :/

hate when fursuiting is compared to kink culture 😔 you know a majority of fursuiters are children, right? its more compareable to cosplaying bc theyre dressing up as their ocs or animal-like characters from games/shows like pokemon for example. like 1% of all fursuits are nsfw and you rarely see fursuting outside of designated events and conventions anyway smh

Thumbnail triggered anecdote: I was talking to my neighbor the other day, he's got kids starting highschool. He said that all groups are protected. From furries to freaks. Which I thought was nice, untiiiil.. There's a group of "dogs" that have "masters" and they wait outside for them to leash them before going inside. They walk around the school like dogs on leashes all day (ooof them knees 😂) One of the leashed kids barked at some kid. The kid barked back. The barkback kid got suspended because he wasn't being inclusive. What a shxtshow.
