The desire to live an intentional life, a life that includes giving attention to how much access to the power of intention we are allowing ourselves, is both beautiful and powerful. When we give attention to intentional living, we also recognize the power of being open to change. An intentional life is one in which we know that we evolve into the beings who have the experiences we want to have. We evolve into the lovers in the wonderful relationships we dream of. We evolve into the creators of the beautiful art we want to produce. We evolve into the ones who live in the home that we’ve held in our hearts for so long. Evolution is change, moving with the powerful current of intention is change, and living life in a physical body is constant change whether we are aware of it or not. Being open to all of that change is what makes living life intentionally in this physically expressing universe delightful.
There is one caveat. Being open to change and needing or even being addicted to change are not the same thing at all. Have you ever known anyone who couldn’t stay in one place, at one job, or in one relationship for long? They get quickly bored and start itching for greener pastures. They are incapable of moving beyond the honeymoon phase of most or all aspects of their lives, and so they never really get a taste of the deep learning and potential development that is possible. That boredom of superficial familiarity that they don’t seem to be able to move past or dive into is a sign of recurring resistance, and that resistance is a sign that they are limiting their own access to the power of intention. I’m not saying that exploring and getting a taste of a diversity of experiences is not a wonderful thing, but if we are not able to commit to any endeavor to see it to a natural end of one kind or another, then we are distracting ourselves from some deep resistance that is probably having a profound effect on our lives.
This week’s spread is not about the resistance, but rather staying open to change. I hope it is a helpful reading for you.
The tarot deck that I’m using this week is the Surfers Paradise Tarot by Sagus93. It holds very closely to the spirit of the Thoth Tarot created by the Harris-Crowley team. The guidebook is deep and poetic, and might be better for an intermediate practitioner of tarot. The best way to get a copy of the deck and book is to send an email to the creator at the following address: sagus93art@gmail.com
The oracle deck I used, based on classical astrology of the seven visible planets in each of the twelve zodiacal signs was the Oracle of the Radiant Sun by Caroline Smith and John Astrop. Here's an Amazon link: www.amazon.com/Oracle-Radiant...
