Lol, the dent was put into it to make it more secure 🤣

Good work on your part. Not sure I would have purchased something in that shape and actually expected it to ever lock securely again. Oh I take that back, give it to me for free or nearly free and I might weld or rivet a piece of angle iron across the top and maybe think it might lock again but I'd have a hard time betting one way or the other.

Craftsman has a similar thing on their tool box locks. It's so you can match up all the locks on your boxes. I suspect it may be the same for those. That's just the #001 set so you can buy other #001 locks and use the same key for all of them.

Someone told me long ago,.. locks only keep honest men out. So the owner has the key and it doesn't work? Looks likes like Capone's vault... I'm just ribbing you, Love your channel!

@@selock Love your content. You gave me the knowledge and the courage to fix a lot of locks that saved $300+ per lock for my company, not that they cared.

Awesome. High Security For Sure. Rule # 1 When Buying Scratch And Dent Items Don't Let It Be A Tool Box When The Damage Is Right Near The Lock Cylinder .

Great job Jason, you definitely went above and beyond on this one. I hope they got it for free, lol. I appreciate your explaining the innards a bit, and I was so relieved when you were able to make that high security key 😄

I opened one like this the same way . Jiggler opened the lock but still needed to pry the bars up on both sides. Thx for the Video.

Turn it upside down would let gravity do its thing Jason. Just a guess.

I think I would have flipped it upside down after I picked the lock to see if gravity would help with the lock bars.

Hello, i have an unrelated question. My china cabinet is locked. It is old: skeleton key which I have. It seems I snapped off the stem that the key goes over. Can a locksmith unlock it without damaging the wood? Can the lock be replaced or can it get a new stem?

Hi Lala, Ask yourself, "What would my Grandfather do?" There are probably two screws on the escutcheon plate that hold the lock on. If you unscrew them the lock will be exposed and at the most you can manipulate the cylinder with a flat blade screwdriver. Locks only keep honest people out. Houdini escaped safes from the inside because they were designed to be unbreakable from the outside!

Why oh why., would you not just drill that cylinder out and jack out that dent with a porto-power? You must love a challenge! TLDR! BTW, I'm recently unemployed and love your channel. Can you help a brother out?
