Cheers mate. Now it's almost impossible to grow a KZitem channel unless you're pumping out shorts all day, every day, this is gold advice. Much appreciated.

In order to reduce the lag....reduce the size of your preview window by making the the bottom timeline section larger. I believe the lag is also due to processing load, so if you reduce the size of the preview window, you also reduce the overall load.

Openshot crashes a LOT for me. I wonder if it’s the cache but today it crashed three times just with a single mp3 on the timeline.

Totally didn't work for me. Did as you said, imported the vertical video, and it placed black bars on the top and bottom. But, it was rendered vertical this time. However, ALL other editors and players see the video as vertical. If I load the video without edits from my desktop after downloading from the camera into youtube, it loads as vertical and as a short with no issue. Yet, I noticed that if you interrogate the file properties, it says 1920x1080. Odd. Not sure if it is the phone or Google photos doing this. Not sure how everything else and even youtube loads it as vertical with no problem. However, I ran it through an online video converter, to 1080x1920. Since it is actually in that format, I lost nothing in the video. Then, following your instructions, OpenShot finally worked. THANK YOU!!

Thanks for the videos! I'm having a problem where my video is imported and when I put it on the timeline it's a very small rectangle. It doesn't fill the space. Might you have a solution for this?

@@ChipperVideos Before, and even doing that, all my imported portrait videos export as squashed. Hm.

Are you trying to make a short? I have trouble with that too, but I found a work around. You make your portrait video on your software on your computer. Then you uploaded to Google drive. Then you download that on your phone. And then you go in KZitem and click the plus sign at the bottom for create short and then you choose that video that you downloaded from Google drive. It's a pain, but that's all I've been able to figure out, and it works for me.
