I think Joe really hit the nail on the head with somebody making a game based on an existing opera and using each of the pieces as basis for stage themes. I also really like the idea of imposing game images over existing operas. I'm sure we can get a moisturizer company to be a sponsor if he dared to try it.

Well, there is a game based on Chopin called Eternal Sonata. Never played it, so I dunno how classical music ties into the game. And I suppose it's also not quite the same thing as opera, it's just the closest thing I could think of in a game.

This might not exactly be what you're looking for but The End Is Nigh uses modern renditions of classical pieces for every stage. The theme for the first area is a fantastic rendition of Danse Macabre that I think almost anyone could enjoy; it's one of my favorites in the entire game.

I find the bit about how hearing a baritone sorta turns his baritone brain on very interesting. It's just something that applies to a lot of media, it becomes a whole different experience when you know something about the process.
@ShutterSnapped
Жыл бұрын
Completely different medium but this is why I find reality shows very hard to watch. It's making drama from human interactions and it makes you realize how un-natural it is to try and edit real interaction to be "digestible". It makes you super aware of moments in movies like how someone will be like "I'll tell you all about the government secrets, but we need to go to the capital." The drama and tension in cinema is maintained because we see the cut from that moment to when the person divulges a secret, but it the reality of the situation is that they travelled in relative silence? Didn't speak about anything all the way to meeting point? Of course you don't think of this when watching a movie but when you then try to edit reality show interactions there is this HUGE disconnect when you start to realize they have to edit things as though it was a 1-2 shot that goes back and forth. As soon as you see it, you'll realize they'll cut constantly to a shot of someone "listening" that will be from a completely different part of the conversation and has no relevance to what the person is saying concurrently. Reaction shots, facial expressions, it's all manipulated to heighten drama. I 100% know this is the lay of the land for reality shows but I can't stand it knowing the process of how they do it. It's completely at ends with the term "reality show" for me. And I hate it lol. But it's a personal taste thing. But also very interesting when you think about how editing plays so much in making people feel a certain way.

18:06 yeah no, Gilgamesh is a *very* silly recurring character in the series, often times being the same version from 5 being warped to other dimensions via the Void that he’s kinda banished to. Often times he’s the butt of a joke or does some unconventional stuff in his fights, so his battle theme being kinda silly sounding plays into that aspect of him…usually. There are some VERY epic and serious versions of the song as well, the most notable being from FF13-2 and 15
