When this song finished, his father surprises him. Backstage Dimash asked his father, if he was good, and his father said yes. Dimash was so happy like a little boy. I asked myself, how it's possible, that he didn't knew, how good he was. 😂😂 Love your reaction. Don't miss to watch other performances of him. He will surprise you every time. Even now he never skips practise! He's training every single freakin day!! Because he loves singing, his life is dedicated for music! It's his whole life! That's why he hones his skills in singing! "Blood, sweat and tears" is correct! You really get him! 😭😭 Only fellow singers, musicians and coaches can appreciate him fully! Thank you so much!! 🤗🤗

Indeed, going thought more Dimash performances as a kind of training series is a very appropriate thing to do for a vocal education channel (and it will really be worth your while, as Dimash is indeed a case-study), but I'm not sure that following his performances chronilogically is ideal. Opera 2 is fine as a second song after SOS, it's very interesting vocally and entertaining at the same time. But there are more recent performances of some of the songs he performed on the "Singer 2017" that are even better, so by only focusing on the Singer show for the 8-9 performances or so that he has done, you will be missing some better versions for some of these songs, like Daybreak and the Diva Dance, where his Bastau concert performances are better than those on Singer by a mile!! Also, some other iconic songs that are really among Dimash's best performances from 2018 and 2019, like "Ogni Pietra" and "Sinful Passion" were not performed on Singer, so it actually might take you quite a while until you make a video about these ones, which are "must-see". If I may offer an alternative approach, I would suggest to collect the requests from the comments section and sort them by popularity. In general, the "unicorn" effect of Dimash's performances is somewhat represented by the requests' popularity. One more thing that deserves your attention is to correctly choose the versions of the songs. For his performances on the Singer 2017, there is Gloria Wu's channel, where she has provided subtitles and backstories for each song. It's very helpful. For other songs, you should do a quick research for each one for which version to watch. For instance, for Ogni Pietra most fans request the fancam video, because Dimash's face and technique are visible up close all the time, but the sound is bad, so there is this brilliant video from a Dimash fan who has combined the official video with the HD sound along with the fancam video, so it has the best from both worlds. And whatever you do, stay away from "The World's Best" performances of him, the production there was not good, it's not worth your while! :) I hope this helps. Well done on deciding to do a Dimash series. He is a pioneer and innovator in singing and he is well worth the focus of a professional such as yourself!!

I can't agree more with you, but in the same time, I saw him on singer back in 2017/2018 I've become Dimash dear and then I've become Dimash clan or tribe so to speak it's crucial for singer to see the changing and experience he got through time I know that he is genius but now he is more in comparison to first time we encounter him since the Singer. I know I loved him on The Singer but for instance Hello on singer 2018 as a guest it was another level and then Sinful passion which then led to work with the greatest composer of our time Igor Kurtoy with Lover of Tired swine and then sure Lover is like dream which is was another level with his bass voice and soprano, Know with all his great middle est melisma and the pumping and exciting song Onig Pitera , Passione and last but not least His Troi with Aida Suprano Goddess and his Idol and for every passionate singer Idol sure Lara Fabian. Sorry for taking me much to explain my thought what is good to go chronologically what we have noticed he is still exploring as he said that has a range and what he can do in each song. you know what this means that with each of his songs he gains something to learn from it and build-up to next point or this is what as I saw and learn from him in his career since 2017 up to now.

I say do it in order from the Singer. You can and should also do his different performances of the same song as some are so totally different Dimash likes to change things up and improve. Most of us Dears started watching Singer 2017 and in order mainly . Then when you think you've heard it all it keeps getting better and better and mind blowing almost. Don't let everyone talk you into doing more recent just because it's their favorite song. You'll get a ton of suggestions but honestly you will want to start from the beginning. Yes it's true about the Worlds Best Performance where they chopped up his song and basically messed with him , but in the end Dimash showed the world what a true honorable person he is . I'm sure you'll find out about it. The performance is good it's just that they cut out so much of it. But all the songs you'll hear in the Singer and beyond . Dimash will take you on a trip of a lifetime so take your time and enjoy it !
@Pegasus209

I understand your desire for jumping to more recent performances, but just as Dimash has honed his skills since Singer 2017, it should be witnessed chronologically. Fine wines are not meant to be gulped. I will agree, Daybreak and Diva Dance aren't his best, and Bastau blows them out of the water. Considering he had to have throat injections just to perform Daybreak and Diva Dance immediately followed a full operatic Confessa, I gave him a pass on both. There are still some amazing performances to see on S17, including a couple of my favorites, Autumn Strong and Adagio. Just my opinion...

Well said! But it's up to you how you would like to proceed. In terms of performances on Singer in 2017, here are the ones to check out: "Show must go on" (Week 3), "Late Autumn" (Week 4; use the video with background from Gloria Wu's channel), "Adagio" (Week 6; one of his most spectacular performances), "Daididau" (Week 7, a Kazakh folk song), "Daybreak" (Week 8; Dimash was sick, and he sings a much improved version at his 2017 Bastau concert - on his channel), "All by myself" (Week 9), "Unforgettable day" (Week 10; he composed this himself; you should watch the version at his Gakku concert in 2017 where he hits that famous D8), and "Confessa + Diva dance" (Week 12; also check out the full performance of Diva Dance at his Bastau 2017 concert). He then performed a great version of Lionel Ritchie's "Hello" as a guest on Singer in 2018. After that, you should watch Olimpico at Arnau, Passione-New Wave, Know, Love is like a dream, Sinful passion, etc...the list of his more recent performances goes on!

As hard as it might be to believe, I think that Dimash has many surprises in store for you. Every time you think "ok yeah, that's his peak as a vocalist" he is going to come out with a "hold my beer" moment. It's not an exaggeration to say that Dimash isn't just a once in a lifetime talent, but quite probably a once-in-ever talent. He is a perfect storm of natural biological gift, insane amounts of training and very musical ears. He has the vocal technician requirements, but it doesn't dominate his songs - the soul is still there, the emotion. Everything he sings feels natural, as if he were simply speaking in conversation or telling a story to a good friend. I wouldn't even consider myself a "fan" of opera or classical music. It's not on my daily playlists - but every time Dimash sings, I can't help but notice his sheer talent. At times it does feel alien/inhuman. Something a lot of reactors overlook, even vocal coaches, is his ability to just switch registers at will without losing tonal quality. He can be doing an E6 whistle note, then drop right back down into baritone and sound like nothing happened. All I can say is that I hope his vocal cords are insured. I can't even imagine what they'd be "worth" in that sense, because it's hard to put a number on something so one-of-a-kind. He's still so young, so I hope that he is able to maintain his longevity.

Nice reaction to Dimash singing Opera 2. Early songs and performances by Dimash were Körkemim (My Beauty) and Opyat Metel (Blizzard Again) in 2016. He did perform the following songs on the Singer 2017 in China: SOS, Opera 2, The Show Must Go On, Autumn Strong, All by Myself, Adagio, Daididau, Unforgettable Day, Daybreak, Confessa and the Diva Dance, A Tribute to MJ, Give me Love. Each song is different. He did perform Hello (Lionel Richie cover) as a guest in 2018 on The Singer and he did a Queen Medley with the Super Vocal Boys. He did perform Sinful Passion in 2018 as well. He is collaborating with Igor Krutoy a Russian Composer who wrote a few songs for Dimash: Mademoiselle Hyde, Know, Ogni Pietra (Every Stone), Passione. He did other Igor Krutoy classics: Love is Like a Dream and Love of Tired Swans. He did sing songs with various artists. Belovezhskaya Pushcha (Nagima Eskalieva), Earth Song (Viktor Ma), Jasmin (Tengri), Ti Amo Cosi (Lara Fabian and Aida Garifulina), Ulysse (Aida Garifullina). I thought it was worth a try to put some Dimash classics in a kind of time line. You will be blown away. Looking forward to your next reaction. Greetings from Amsterdam.

Speaking of age, the transformation that fascinates me is Leonard Cohen's. In his 80s, singing "Slow" his voice is so deep and so much weaker up high than singing "Marianne" decades earlier, it doesn't sound like the same person. Is that entirely explained by his smoking, or maybe steroids to keep him well while touring round the world so old, or is that a normal course of the human voice by that age?

Really nice, and very goodinformed reaction! And thank you thank you, thank you for emphasizing the sheer labor day went into this voice! People seem to think that he basically sprang fully formed onto the world stage with an 'alien' voice and maybe a few lessons. In fact, he has put in more training time than a neurosurgeon or an Olympic athlete. Dimash's classical training seems to be the foundation of his ability to fully exploit the extraordinary vocal potential he inherited. His S.O.S performance at Slavic Bazaar is more classically styled, and he was in 'better God's, although I still like the Singer performance more for its energy and immediacy. For songs with a classical bent, a chronological progression is S.O.S. (Singer 2017), Diva Dance (Singer 2017), S.O.S. (Slavic Bazaar 2018), Diva Dance (Bastau 2018), Passione (New Wave 2019), and Olyimpco/Ogni Pietra (Arnau 2019 -- the concert version has better sound than the more-viewed fancam version). Olympico won Dimash Russia's Classical Singer of the Year. Incidentally, there are a few brief clips scattered about of Dimash idly singing La Donna e Mobile and Der Hoelle Rache, sort of passing time while 'off-duty', both of which I'd love to hear him perform!

Dimash, (now 25), born with an extra-long larynx, his mother an opera singer, opera training since age 5, has a 6-octave range. he is already a master technician. There's is no one with this degree of mastery. It's awesome that you point out just how much plain old WORK it takes to achieve the technical excellence Dimash has. I used to listen to Steve Perry and think - "once in a lifetime voice" WIth Dimash, I think "once in a millennia voice". In case nobody mentioned it yet he also plays at least 7 instruments and he received his first award for piano at age 6. His father sings pop and is a music producer and his mother sings Opera. When you do get to Ogni Pietra (Olympico) the best view to watch his mouth is the fancam version from Arnau because it stays on his upper body the whole time so you have a straight on view of his mouth for the whole song. Nobody will mind if you skip other songs to react to it, especially because it is Opera. It is also the first song Igor Krutoy composed just for him since joining him to compose several songs for him. The second is Passione. Both of them are Italian Opera songs even though Igor is Russian

Thank you for your elaborate reaction! It was very interesting to me as a person who knows very little about singing, to hear your comparisons of singing this high to arranging a puzzle while running or making a violin and playing it at the same time. Also I liked very much that you pointed out the importance of hard work vs talent. I get upset when I hear "alien", "not normal", as if he has just been born this way. For me this diminishes his accomplishment. You asked in what order to continue with Dimash. If you follow his performances from "I am a Singer", they are all amazing. You may do a video of one and the same song in different performances - like Daididau or Daybreak from Singer and Bastau, and especially The Diva Dance - from Singer, Bastau and the Chinese Spring Gala 2020, where he sings in a duet with another opera singer. Dimash has very beautiful lyrical songs with wonderful lyrics, which are not mentioned so often. You may check them out, too - Kusni Korlan, Give me love, Karagim-Ay, Karatorgay, My Swan, I miss you, Aykaragoz - Ft. Alisher, Don't Make Me Dream, Just let it be, Couldn't leave, If I never breathe again.

So many fans just requested their current favorite, but I always think it's best to look at things in order when it comes to certain people like Dimash. You're the first to actually voice a desire to do so, and that makes you one of the smartest reactors out there. You're on the right track so far away with this performance. I'll come back to you with a list.

I love what you are doing bc not only you will be able to appreciate his vocals and techniques you will also notice that he is getting better and better, hard to imagine to some but it’s true, he stills trains his voice everyday even with his busy schedule, he has three vocal coaches (one kazakh one chinese and one american) who he always sends his newest performances for criticism and advice. It just shows that he doesn’t settle for his technique and is always trying to improve

Angel понимает это, но хочет совершать свое путешествие хронологически, потому что ей важно для самой себя изучить вокальную технику Димаша, а лучше всего это наблюдать в эволюции, так она считает.

Great analysis. Beside Dimas modulating x3 vs only x1 for vitas. Dimash sings the chorus and gives it a shape, vitas basically talks through the chorus until he reaches the climax part

Wonderful to hear a singer with opera and classical training and experience analyze these songs. Looking forward to more, Angel (great name for an opera singer). I especially love what you said at the end about all the work, the time, the sacrifice that must go into transforming what nature gives us into art. And I hope you feel your best soon.

Wonderful reaction from you. You should hear Dimash sing "opyat Metel" when he won the 2015 Slavic Bazaar. Also, his duets w/ opera artists. As you've said, I could only imagine the amount of work he has put through to achieve his technique. I has been hammered & polished for 20 years and he's only 25 yrs old. Just beautiful.

Dear Angel, the man that did the fist pump at the end of the song is Dimash's father. I am Singer 2017 episodes were a week apart so there was only a week to prepare for each one. In order was episode 1 SOS ep 2 Opera 2 ep 3 The Show Must Go On ep 4 Autumn Strong ep 5 Uptown Funk ep 6 Adagio ep 7 Daididau ep 8 Daybreak ep 9 All By Myself ep 10 Unforgettable Day He didn't sing on ep 11 ep12 Confessa + Diva Dance ep 13 Dimash and Laure Tribute to MJ ep 14 Give Me Love. On Singer 2018 he guested on ep 14 singing Hello He also guested on Singer 2019 singing a Queen Medley with Super Vocal Boys but KZitem blocks attempts to react to it, although you can watch it on KZitem or Facebook. After Singer he has had a lot of songs and concerts.. You can find non English song stories & performance with subtitles on channel Gloria Wu or on his channel Dimash Kudaibergen & Holistic Freedom Lifestyle-Awakening With Joy.

It just solidifies what a special individual Dimash is. I since you chose Opera 2 because it took you back to your roots when you were first starting your career, you will absolutely LOVE "Ogni Pietra" (Olympico)!!!!!! You got to do this review sooner than later. I assure you, your appreciation and admiration for Dimash's operatic abilities will BLOW YOUR MIND! Dimash is known to be very serious practicing, hard working kind of person. But you can't explain to just talent & hard working. There are a lot of talented people around the world right? He is extremely rare, unique gifted voice ,all together became a Dimash. Unicorn no. He is a alien with angelic voice 😇 from another planet 😁

Thank you soooo, so much for your amazing analysis! :) Here are important songs/performances afer Opera 2 in a chronological order: 1) Adagio (Singer, spring 2017) 2) All by Myself (Singer, spring 2017) 3) Diva Dance (either Singer, spring 2017 or Bastau (his first big solo concert) in summer 2017, most prefer the Bastau concert version though --> that's the "Diva Song" from the movie The 5th Element) 4) Daybreak (Bastau, summer 2017 --> at his first big solo concert) 5) Unforgettable Day (Gakku, fall 2017 --> whistle) 6) Hello (Singer, spring 2018, Lionel Richie cover) 7) Screaming (Idol Hits, summer 2018) 8) Sinful Passion (Sochi, fall 2018) 9) Love of Tired Swans (Kremlin Palace, winter 2018) 10) Love is Like a Dream (Alla Pugacheva Gala, spring 2019) 11) Ogni Pietra (Arnau concert, summer 2019 --> classical cantata, please use the ultra HD fan cam version of Dimash 48, most fans prefer it and all voice teachers prefered it, the whole performance is an ultra HD close up of his face, so you can see his technique, his embouchure etc very well... also the TV version of Qazaqstan TV has some weird post production) 12) Passione (New Wave, fall 2019 --> partly classical) 13) Know (New Wave, fall 2019) 14) Ulisse (Igor Krutoy Gala in Ice, winter 2019 --> classical cantata, duet with Aida Garifullina) 15) Ti Amo Così (Igor Krutoy Gala in Ice, winter 2019 --> mostly classical cantata, with Aida Garifullina and Lara Fabian) Hmm I think among the biggest fan favorites are e.g. SOS, Diva Dance, Sinful Passion, Love of Tired Swans, Love is Like a Dream and Ogni Pietra

On the second song that I heard (SOS) I thought "he's workaholic!" He's constantly improving. When you compare him singing five years ago, you'll see how he's improved. Apart from all advices I would recommend to listen to kazaq songs. Where he doesn't show off, but just smoothes with his warmth and tenderness. Plus, I would like to add, each song has its time. Sometimes one song doesn't touch me for the first time then after sometime you return back to it and you are struck "how could I not get it earlier?!"

Love your reactions😀 The Singer show certainly launched Dimash's world exposure but do be aware that the channel is well known for handing out copyright strikes😩 It's certainly where I learned to love his vocal 'crossover' style but I hope I'm not being too controversial in saying that he has grown exponentially since then. There are so many great performances since then particularly since his collaboration with the Russian composer Igor Krutoy who invited him to sing at Sochi - Sinful Passion - which has the same technical appeal as SOS because of his wide range, tonal and technique changes. Since then he has re-interpreted a number of Igor's back catalogue like Love is Like a Dream, Love of Tired Swans,Ascolte la Voce (Know) all great 'cross-over' performances. More recently, Igor has composed a number of songs specifically for Dimash's vocal style, such as,Ogni Pietra and Passione. Both are remarkable in that they harness his classical training and are scored for one singer even though another composer would have to consider scoring for 2-3 performers! If you want to dip into some classical singing try Dimash at the VTB arena Moscow for Igor's 65th anniversary where he performs the above along with 'Ti Amo Cosi' with Aida Garafullina and Lara Fabian as well as 'Ulisse', a duet with Aida. There are many more performances to consider as well, Autumn Strong (Late Autumn) and Adagio from Singer 2017 in particular. His first solo concert Bastau 2017 where he performs a number of his Singer 2017 songs, Daybreak, Diva Dance (Wow) A little side note, a thing not often considered, is the multiple languages he sings in. I have seen comments complaining about his pronunciation, particularly in English. I challenge those people to go sing in Mandarin, Serbian, Turkish with the aplomb he does. It completely ignores the fact that his first language is Kazakh where the alphabet is different as well as the vowel sounds. Try learning a song in alien phonetics and delivering it with conviction, understanding and emotion to an audience of native speakers!😳😳 Rant over. I know this is long-winded😴 but I hope it is helpful and you enjoy your journey whichever path you choose👍

It's so lovely to listen to your explanations and descriptions with your expertise. Thank you. I like your idea about studying his techniques yourself by watching his singing from 2 years back before proceeding to the recent ones, watching his growth. From this Singers 2017 competition, you can skip his performance 'Uptown Funk' as your reaction video. Watch that in your own time. 😉😁😄 Really enjoyed your videos.

The evolution of his singing I think is the best way since he is 22 years old here and will be 26 in May this year. So start with his introduction to the "world" The Singer 2017 in China. It is a professional singing competition that he entered as the youngest ever. I will let you know he came in 2nd place. First place was a woman more than twice his age. Many think he should have won but I don't think China would allow their first foreign singer and the youngest win the competition. If you check on KZitem for singer2017 you can choose Dimash's songs one after the other that he sang each week. If you don't want to get ahead of yourself and do your reactions authentically, then just stop after each song and keep track of the time and when you are going to watch his next song just que it up to the time. If you want some song back stories you can check either Dimash's Channel or Gloria Wu's. She puts a lot of subs in and both of those channels allow you to play the songs without issue, no need to pause unless you want to say something. That was his dad that they showed after Dimash finishes, the guy who pumps his fist into the air. He is shown watching in a number of songs. There is a huge difference in his singing and enunciation from then until now. I am guessing it comes with his learning Mandarin and English much better. I say his singing got better because the enunciating got so much better. But he does new things all the time.

Hi Angel, from Sydney Australia! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! for just about the best analysis of Dimash's talent, vocal expertise and technical ability! I too think exactly the same as you re the difference between Vitas and Dimash performing Opera 2 and Vitas in general. You put in words so succinctly every aspect of this performance (and that of S.O.S.) and the tremendous work and time Dimash has dedicated to perfecting his vocal techniques and making the most of his talent. I'm ecstatic to see him reaping the rewards and world-wide recognition he so richly deserves. His stage presence and charisma on and off the stage and his gorgeous personality only serve to enrich our overall experience of such a phenomenally talented, hardworking and endearing young man. For great operatic style performances, check out Igor Krutoy's 65th Anniversary concert at VTB Ice Arena, Moscow Nov. 3 2919 especially Ogni Pietra/Olympico, Ulisse, and Ti Amo Cosi kzitem.info/news/bejne/rH59k6mle5x9mGU
