@@maggiereneemusic, Hello my favorite reactor. I would like to suggest a singer from Brazil. He sings songs from the like of Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion. His name is GABRIEL HENRIQUE. I first saw songs of his songs in a contest he did and later found out he has his own YT channel. Other reactors have looked at his songs. The singer can do some crazy high notes even maybe a whistle note like Dimash Kudaibergen my favorite singer. Please look at Gabriel's MY HEART WILL GO ON or RUN TO YOU.

Really what amazing with Marcelito is he didn’t have formal classical training nor any singing/voice lesson like Dimash. He came from a poor background and taught himself how to sing by watching television, listening to radio and singing karaoke. Just imagine how better he can be if he had the proper training like you. I’m really glad you did a proper analysis of his vocal techniques. As the saying goes, the only room that can’t be filled is the room for improvement. Marcelito is a great singer but can be greater if he gets the proper training.

Marcelito is Marcelito, Dimash is Dimash. They different people and both are good. Dimash practice more profecional lessons than Marcelito. Evry human has some talent. One use is a good way(Dimash), other use only amators way(Marcelito). And some people doesn't discover own talent. Marcelito is like Amira Willighagen. She was young when she was in Holland's Got Talend. After program she started profecional training vocal. Marcelito has talent and he should start profecional training.
@joelramirez8388

xxx xxx I agree, but it’s easier to learn skills when you’re younger than as an adult. It’s difficult to rectify bad habits (in singing) than creating a new one. That’s why you get a great advantage of being trained in your younger years because you develop the proper techniques earlier. That’s what Dimash got because he has both parents as classical artists to guide him. Marcelito, on the other hand, didn’t even have the presence of his parents when he was growing up and have to help himself by working odd jobs to support himself to survive. Then he taught himself how to sing and developed his skills without the guides that Dimash had. So I admire him more because of that. I believe, if someone is given the same trainings and privileges like Dimash, he can be as good as Dimash.

He doesn't speak Italian at all, but I've seen Italians react to this and they say his pronunciation is very good though he pauses for a breath in the middle of an Italian word at one point. He's not very confident in English, probably because he didn't have any schooling until he was a teenager. If you watch the beginning when he says to click below to subscribe, he immediately looks off to the side as if to ask "Did I say that right?"
@estera4176

I think he's Italian is quite good because of his familiarity with Spanish. I don't speak Italian, but I'm very familiar with it and I could read it quite well (the intonation might be a bit troublesome), because of my mother tongue and because I can speak a bit of Spanish. English is also popular in the Philippines, but he didn't speak it back then, despite the familiarity. He does a good job indeed.

That is awesome! I search for him quite a bit and always listen and replay him singing the Prayer over and over again! It always feels like I'm hearing it for the first time! You realize thst he was homeless in the Philippines and started singing at 7yrs and not until 18 yrs of age he did realize that he could sing high notes as well. People had encouraged him to sing and join contests but didn't feel he was good at all. With that said, he had no formal training as he was so poor and living on the streets. He took gog like the one you showcased to get paid 50 pesos (= to $1 if the conversion rate is good and that is very good although it could go as high as 55 pesos to a dollar) just enough to eat but then go back to sleeping on the streets for the night. Thank God he joined Philippines Got Talent and won so now he can sing , eat and sleep! Great story to go with that great voice! Thank you for covering it! I love your show and just subscribed! Be safe and healthy out there!

The simplicity of the music accompaniment is unlike Celine Dion's or Andrea Bocelli's orchestra adds to the purity of his voice. Not too many foreign listening audience know how he developed his singing style without professional training was purely his own, inspired by Celine Dion he idolizes. Marcelito is a Philippine national treasure in the art. And I am a proud Filipino fan. God bless you Marcelito.

Edited from Salary Loan For Approval (2017) (minor differences from the version from America's Got Talent) Marcelito's life story--with all its loneliness, deprivations, and hardships is one for the movies. His eventual success via Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 in 2011 where he emerged as champion will inspire anyone who has come to know about the difficult life he has had. His is not just a Cinderella-like story but a poignant story of longing and love for his own family he never grew up with and one of forgiveness. He was born in Mangagoy, Bislig City in Surigao del Sur. When he was about two years old, his father, on false accusation, got imprisoned. His mother, together with his eldest sibling who was then about seven years old, left him and his two other siblings, the youngest being just 3 months old, to somebody else's care to look for a job elsewhere. When someone reported to the authorities that nobody was attending to the children, they were brought to his father in prison where they were fed on food shared with them or contributed by other prisoners. When their father got sick, however, and could no longer take care of them, he was forced to have them adopted by a local policeman in the person of Ali Macawili. Marcelito stayed with the Macawilis until he was eight years old. He was not treated very well and experienced maltreatment, which prompted him to ask the Macawilis if he was their real child. After disclosing to him that they were just foster parents and that his real father was jailed that eventually led to his adoption by Macawili, Marcelito left home the following day to look for his father in prison. But he miserably failed to find the latter there. Marcelito found himself engaged in various economic activities in order to survive. He worked as a pin boy in a duckpin bowling alley, sold "balut" (fertilized duck egg, a local delicacy) and ice cream, and performed other odd jobs. Many times, he slept in the streets. When he was 16 years old--eight years after he left his adoptive parents--and while selling balut, a suki (regular customer) recognized him and told him he knew what happened to his family and that his father's whereabouts. The man brought Marcelito to his father. His father cried when they met and upon telling him of the story behind his mother's leaving them, Marcelito harbored ill-feelings against his mother. Marcelito stayed with his father who then had a new family, but only briefly as he decided to leave because he could not get along well with his stepmother. He later moved to Manila to seek employment. He worked in a furniture shop, washed empty Emperador Brandy bottles, worked in a poultry farm and in a piggery, and also worked in a construction outfit. During his employment in a poultry farm he discovered his talent in singing in both a male tenor voice and a strikingly convincing female soprano voice, owing to his idolizing Regine Velasquez. He would sing as he sprayed the chicken house. When Marcelito turned 24, he went back to his father who informed him that his mother was in Manila. He didn't know that while he was working in Manila, his mother and siblings were also there. Marcelito returned to Manila to look for his mother and siblings and this time successfully found them. When Marcelito first met his mother, he could not describe his feeling. He said he was angry, asking why she left them. His mother, however, hugged him and asked for his forgiveness. He decided to join a reality TV talent search. He first joined ABC 5 Talentadong Pinoy but didn't make it there. Not giving up, he tried ABS-CBN's Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 where he garnered 19.56% of the total text votes in the finals, making him the grand champion and winning a whopping 2 million pesos. All the members of his family were present showing their support during the grand finals at the Araneta Coliseum where he impressively performed "The Prayer" (by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli). He was given a standing ovation by the audience and all three judges. Marcelito said he prayed that his performance be successful so that his family would be proud, as that was the very first time in his life that he saw all the members of his long-lost family together. Marcelito got emotional when he answered that question. In September 2014, Marcelito married Joan Paraiso; they have one daughter, Marcella Janiah Marcelito's lonely and difficult life seems over. With his "beautiful voices" coupled with his unique style of singing and his legions of fans ready to support him, no doubt, this "internet sensation" will be going far very in his career.

🙏 Great reaction Maggie! Marcelito is an amazing self taught singer, I'd almost consider it mimicry. The "doble kara", or "double voice", is something a lot of Filipino singers can do, but Marcelito is by far the best. Hopefully you'll be able to work in Hua Chenyu, the runner up on Singer 2018, the year after Dimash was runner up. His singing dynamics, creativity, emotional connection, and arranging of music has turned him into a star in China. Please listen to "Child" first. It is stunning! A huge fan of yours!

🙏 In my voice I perceive two types of mix, one more light and high (above Bb4 to G5 with more power but in G or A softly in piano) and other more chesty from F4 to A4 and sometimes, with a lot of appoggio, to B4 or C5 ( when warmed up). Marcelino in one moment seemed in trouble with a baritonal chesty mix imitating Bocelli (probably in zona di passagio). I would like more demonstrations of female mix. Often I can perceive the mix in pop in much constrast to pure head voice (reinforced falsetto, falsettone), but when I listen to operatic singing it's hard to perceive the difference between female mix and pure head voice (one exception was Joan Sutherland).
