There’s a soprano aria with an F3 that Callas performed if I remember correctly. But there are sopranos who also sang lower cause they can (showoffs). Jessye Norman most notably sang into the second octave. As did a few other singers like Calesta Day (decent coloratura), and Dessay I believe touched a low C.

@@moriokayuri yeah. He isn't even trying to hit the right notes properly. Hearing the correct tones is one thing. Producing the right tones is another. Amateur choir singer (and #TeamRecorder player) here… an octave and a half is really more common 😹 but I also do have a three-octave range, up to A₅ which isn’t half bad for an untrained Ct who has to sing T in choir because that’s where the numbers are missing. At 4:23, is that really an actual semitone or larger trill or just exaggerated vibrato? And… how do you DO that? 🙀 I guess I’ve got to take lessons at some point… But I do wonder: *can* you even sing sustained notes at straight pitch, without all that vibrato? (Sorry, but that much vibrato is… just not my personal taste, which is probably unrefined anyway… I like Baroque music and Nightwish/Tarja Turunen… can’t stand late-19th and later “classical” music…) I really with TwoSet Violin would at least *try*. Well, try for something else than comedic effect. They have a broad followership and could get some music education and breadth of instruments (voice included) to the masses, at least for a start. Their other video about singing was… well the “teachers” weren’t trying either. And with perfect pitch they could get so much more out of a recorder than other amateurs, too.

Love your response to instrument care! 😁 But is there a difference between alcohol and red wine though? Healthwise, red wine not alcohol is know to be protective against heart disease, but heard that alcohol should be avoided in singers cause it can attribute to the deterioration of their instrument. Myth or fact? Idk, maybe alcohol causes dehydration....
@AngelAzzarraOpera
4 жыл бұрын
Alcohol absolutely will dehydrate the mucous membranes that line the throat. Drinking can also cause gastric reflux in certain people- I’m lucky that I can drink and if I ensure that I am matching my beverage ounce for ounce with water (and don’t drink like...crazy) I’m fine. But if you are noticing a significant decrease in range or increased hoarseness/tenderness, you may be in the reflux camp. If I have to sing and I want a drink I usually abstain or have a beer or a finger of scotch. I think it should be done in moderation. Obviously I wouldn’t drink a full bottle of red wine the day of or before a gig, but I don’t see a reason to abstain in every day life. Practice your extreme rep/vocalises was in the evenings, drink afterwards whilst hydrating, and then the following day just keep your most active vocal practice session in the evening. I think the whole “cold water! A sniffle! Honey!” Is like.... 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃. I don’t know any professional singers like that. Of course, don’t be discourteous and show up to a rehearsal sick, but if I were in orchestra I also wouldn’t want a stand partner coughing all over me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@AngelAzzarraOpera
4 жыл бұрын
And to answer the og question (yikes sorry) idk! All alcohol has a dehydrating effect. I think it depends on your body. My body struggles with processing certain things and I find that gin, scotch, and more bitter reds don’t bother me like say, white wine or tequila.
