They realized James irl doesn't act like how he does in the AVGN videos and so they lost interest
@borrisg4972
2 жыл бұрын
Apparently James is a total phoney. A total shitbag behind the scenes. I hear he no longer talks to his old staff after hiring his new staff. That doesn't sound like much, but what that actually means is he alienated himself from Mike, Bootsy, and Justin-- his actual friends from their college days-- with his shitty attitude and non-passion (he's a sellout script READER, NOT writer) and had to hire on new people with ZERO connection to him. So what we're left with nowadays are Nerd episodes written by other people (which to be fair has been the case for a very long time now) to be read by James with the same effort and passion as when I read the morning papers aloud in my head. Then there's the podcast. James and the newer crew. Holy fuck. Look up the "Who Are These Podcasts" episode about Cinemassacre and James Rolfe. Both Opie's and Stuttering John's shows are followable and coherant in comparison. Mike and Justin (or Mike and Bootsy) have a gaming podcast that supposed to be good. The other one (again, Justin or Bootsy) has a show with someone else as well, so they are all still doing things at least. That all might sound harsh, and I'm just relaying what I've heard, but at the end of the day he was never a gamer. He owned some games as a child, then bought a collection as an adult. He is and always was a CINEMA nerd. The Angry Nerd charactor is based on Mike, who always was and still is a gamer. James always was a phony, and people are mostly just recently finding out. Some people don't care, some people can't see past the revelations.

I don’t watch any of the new episodes. If I’m honest, I’m fine with it dying too. But I still feel like James deserves to be around and is still an important part of the internet.
