It's unfortunate that Niger Delta had the first contact with the whites and their land is endowed with huge oil and gas deposit. Coupled with it's beautiful geography of being surrounded by estuaries, creeks and Atlantic ocean. Yet it's still underdeveloped with many of her people occupying low class population. It's unfortunate. But the Niger Delta leaders should be blamed. Else, how can Kano, Kaduna and Ebonyi States with no 13% excess crude extra allocation will be performing more than Delta, Bayelsa. Apart from Rivers and AkwaIbom, other Niger delta states are not living up to their expectations. A man from Kano or Ekiti cannot develop Niger delta when Niger Delta is not his home or Nigerias capital.

@@sodienyefubara7784 OK 👍, we agree to disagree. I was only Defending my heritage, that has been abused ,Accused ,and Totally Refused. The Amount of Hatred Towards igbos in Nigeria is Alarming. Haus/ Fulani, or Yoruba Hatred I can understand, but not from those who claim to be our neighbours. I will not Tolerate from anyone. Furthermore I don't recognise the so called " South South, or Niger delta. Those word's were Coined to Spite the " IGBO " no more History lessons to hide from the truth. Igbos never invented the word Biafra, it was there before Nigerias Independence. They Scrapped the " Bight of Biafra " off the history or Geographical book's. All we know is the whole Area is called "Eastern Region " the igbo core Areas are called " East Central: while present day Akwa Ibom. And cross River is called "South Eastern " so why call us, South East, and you are now claiming meaningless " South South. All I am saying just leave igbo matters alone. Don't even call our name in your daily routine. Don't like us. We are used to your Hatred mind your own business and live IGBO Alone. Because igbo is a Natural fact.
I don't know why we igbos will want to identify the south southerners as igbos. Genetically we are not, cognitive reasoning is not the same and with a host of several differences. We are just connected by geographic boundaries , despite that some of the lands were occupied by ibos in the past. The igbos are known invaders, they conquer and occupy and that cannot be changed. This the British saw as threat and created the enmity against the igbos cos they see the igbos as threat. Whether they like it or not the igbos is the heartbeat of Nigeria
