That quilt is so beautiful, and I enjoyed this video enormously. I like to watch quilting videos, but I tend to fast forward to the end a lot. I get bored with too many details. This quilt is above my skill level at the present time, but watching Angela whiz right through is just plain fun. There is nothing wrong with making a fun video that features a proprietary pattern, shows off the results, and respects intellectual property. Kudos to you, Angela for setting an example and showing us how THAT is done. As for me, practice makes perfect. I am straight and square. I'm going to quilt something bigger than a potholder soon. I'm about to tackle triangles. I'm not ready for curves. I have 2 and 1/2 quilts pieced. I will do this, I will. Or I may send them out and just keep sewing quilt tops and watching videos. I also buy fabric to photograph for breathtakingly beautiful computer quilts.

YES! That's exactly it. I design some of the patterns to give away as free. But when I see an amazing pattern by a talented designer, I like to feature it. I want to support all facets of our industry....the new quilter who wants some instruction, the established quilter who wants some entertainment, as well as the pattern designer who took her time and knowledge to write an amazing pattern. 😄

I think we can all agree that the part of quilting we all love most is buying the fabric. My second favorite part is hoarding fabric. Synonyms of hoard: cache, lay away, lay by, lay in, lay up, put by, salt away, squirrel (away), stash, stockpile, store, stow, treasure, accumulate, acquire, amass, assemble, collect, concentrate, garner, gather, pick up, round up, scrape (together) heap, pile, stack.

If there was one part of quilting that I could make magic it would be being able to see each time someone is enjoying or loving one of my quilts. I often gift mine away to people I don’t know when charity quilting and it would be fulfilling to get that window into the world to see someone experiencing happiness from my quilts. Plus quilts travel around forever and it would be interesting to see if and how the quilt exchanged hands and admirers.

Don't get discouraged. Machine quilting takes practice, lots of practice! Angela's an expert. She didn't get to this level overnight. Stick with it and you'll get better. A larger throated machine is nice, but quilting on it will still require practice.

Where have the quilting diagrams gone? We used to get them on Craftsy.

Hi Denise! Angela answered that question on a different comment, here's what she had to say: "I did provide quilting templates but so few people downloaded them that it wasn’t really worth all the time it took me to make them. We stopped doing them over a year ago." Thanks for letting us know that you would like to see the diagrams make a reappearance!

That is so funny! People didn't realize that something was missing and had been missing for over a year until the actual format was shaken up a bit. Says a lot about human nature and change. Too funny.

I would have loved a quilting diagram on this one. Used to always download them for ideas on other quilts too. I for one really miss the diagrams

Watching Angela, trying to get my motivation back... I stopped in the middle of a project and can't seem to pick it back up again! 😢 And it's a project I'm psyched about!

When that happens to me, I do free style crumb blocks for a day or two. For me its easy mindless quilting, and it doesnt take long for my mind to get back in the swing of my ongoing projects. :)

@@trinam2503 This is exactly what I hoped for when I posted my comment. :) Thank you so much for this valuable advice! I need SOMETHING and this sounds brilliant!

@@SmittenKitten. your very welcome! Another sugestion, make all your crumb blocks the same size, i just keep adding pieces until i can cut a 6.5in sqr ( no particular reason for that size, I just happen to always have a sqr ruler that size next to my machine for trimming), and then use the trimmed off piece as the start of the next block. Keep them all together, and in a couple months you'll have enough blocks to just add some sashing, and you'll have whole quilt! :)

I love making quilt tops. I really dislike sandwiching. I think I’d get more quilts done if I could skip sandwiching.

Me too! I have to discipline myself to finish the quilt after I get the quilt top done or else I'd never have any finished projects. It got to the point where I forbade myself to buy any more cloth until I'd finished all my quilting projects. I love HAVING the finished quilts, just not the finishing of them. 😂
