I'd put the 1080Ti at the very top-end of low-tier in 2024 ;)

It is equivalent to a 2060 super or a 1660 super. 3060 also sometimes stresses from it. It was the best gpu that lost nvidia tons of money so they never made the mistake again.

High everything and put only level of detail and shadow quality to medium, FSR Quality at 1080p, Balanced at 1440p and you're good to go man

Setting screen space reflection to high adds extra reflections when your underwater also I recommend setting cloud quality to high or very high when using dlss ,Xess, fsr because clouds scale heavily with resolution

On the cloud res, I didn't find that it matters much at 1080p because you need to run pretty close to native internal resolution (dynamic between native and Quality mode) for Aloy's limbs and hairs not to go blurry and pixalted in motion. It may be more obvious at 1440p when the absolute difference between internal res and upscaled res is greater.

I had a nice playthrough with my 1050 ti running at 40-60fps @ 1080p on FSR2 medium. But man, the Burning Shores DLC is so much heavier that performance tanked to half and is virtually unplayable

Burning Shores seems a lot more CPU heavy as well, it may also rely more on streaming in assets from your drive, so maybe the GPU isn't the only culprit here ;)

I have an activity indicator for my drives. And the game is installed on an NVMe drive. So I'm pretty sure my temporary GPU is a major bottleneck in my system.
