Wow! What a work of art! What would a vise like this be used for?

Pretty much anything that you'd use any other vise for. You just don't want to use it as an anvil like some of the cast iron vises.

@@PrecisionTKS thanks. I know that's a stupid question, but being that it's made out of aluminum, I thought it had a very special purpose use in mind.

No, not really. It's amazing how precise it is considering it's size, and how strong it is, considering the fact that it's aluminum. The critical components are steel (like the threads and bar), but the aluminum should keep it from corroding for many years.

Nice in depth review thank you. My only question is why is the vise aluminum instead of cast iron or ductile iron? What is the benefit? One thing that makes me nervous would be the durability of an aluminum vise although it looks built solid.
@PrecisionTKS
Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Honestly, I'm not sure why is almost entirely aluminum. Unless you really wanted to beat on it for some reason, there really isn't a reason for the steel/iron body. The parts that are steel (threads, handle, etc) should hold up fine over the years and the overall size of the vise, if made with steel, would probably be well over 100 lbs.

@@PrecisionTKS for me i use the anvil on the vise for on a work truck. I guess thats the 1 drawback. No anvil. In a shop tho it makes sense can you can jus have a separate and larger anvil

@@bossmanz28 oh yeah, if you're using it on a work truck, this definitely isn't the vise for you. It's an excellent vise, but just not designed/built/intended for that use case.

Right tool for the right job. These just aren’t made to be beaten on. I use mine for motorcycle work, fork assembly, and some other odds and ends precision work where I just need a secure clamping. With that said, these are stout, smooth, and precision made. These are a work of art!! I’ve had mine for about a year now. Not gonna lie, it looks damn good on any bench 😂

When you have firearms that are $5000 to $20,000 in total investment each, the vise is a wise investment to protect them. This vice allows you to do serious GUNSMITHING while minimizing doing damage to your high-end firearms. Cheap insurance in my opinion.

Yeah...sry No disrespect,but every Old Grandpaa Vise outperform this vise by far.i Just bought a German Made Boley 30mm Vise for 180$ ,she is stamped sr.75 and from 1920s...and it is one of the best vises i ever Had. Those old Grandpaa vises are Made of trustworthy Cast Iron or in my Case Cast steel. If U want a good Vise: Loook Out for 3 Brands Boley \ Leinen Leinen Gressel Those 3 Vise Brands rule the Swiss Shops and Shops im Germany where they make the very best Guns and precision Parts.
