Nice review 👌👍 I also have just bought a wild FS and have had it for just over 3 months now. I love how capable it is down hill even with all that extra weight. I get all my bikes invisiwraped when I get them, it makes a huge difference. The one thing I really hate about the wild is the rubber cover for the charging port. It's so awkward and annoying to push into place probably and I dont think it offers great protection from mud and water.

Thanks for the support and the recommendation for invis. it looks like it might be the way to go. I know exactly what you mean about the charging port cover. It was something I mentioned in my original review of the bike. I haven't had any issues and others I know with the same Bosch cover haven't either, but then we probably aren't exposing them to the sort of wet and muddy conditions you are likely to get elsewhere (our trails don't get particularly muddy and dry out fairly quickly).

Yep. Invis is the way to go IMHO. Just sold an Invisifamed 5 year old Santa Cruz 5010 which was totally thrashed and frame look horrendous with loads of dings and scapes but when I stripped the Invisframe off the bike really did look like new. Very impressed. Have Invisd both our Wild FS’s which wasn’t cheap but was a no brainer. Have the range extender and can get about 70km with big elevation gain not worrying about modes which is great. The main problem is the additional battery really affects the centre of gravity of the bike and handling and can easily catch you out. I much prefer not using it for anything very steep and technical.
@TrailTrackerSwitzerland
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for information - much appreciated. That's a strong case for Invis. Even if there is a massive difference in quality between the Santa Cruz paint job and the Orbea. My Megatower has been thrashed much more than the Orbea, but I haven't lost any chunks of paint yet. I hear what you say about the weight of the battery affecting the handling - that is something that I was concerned about. I'll definitely need to check that out near home before heading off into the boon docks with it.

Thanks for this feature. I love my Orbea FS Wild. Had it now for 9 months and my riding has gone to another level and thats down to this bike. I found your channel as I searched "Wild FS head bearing" as mine too appears to have moved offline but also I seem to be getting a small amount of play in that area. I have also had paint chips on my frame but I put that down to the rugged terrain I have been torturing my FS Wild to over the last few months or so. The crank arm on the drive side also came loose on no less than 4 occassions but this was replaced by the company I purchased the bike from under warranty. Apart from that I love it!!

I had previously bought the Niner RipE9 for myself but after several rides on the Orbea fs25 I was really surprised at how much better the Orbea performed in pretty much every downhill type riding condition vs the Niner. I've done 3,300 miles on my Hydroformed aluminium framed 2021 Wild FS H25, most of those miles are off road. The frame paintwork chips easily, but the pro's outweigh the cons. All the suspension is still original, with the original bearings and no wear to any frame components. The only thing I've changed is the wheels and tyres, the original Shimano hubs that came on my bike were unsealed. I have bought a pair of Hope Fortus wheels with Pro Hub 4 hubs, happy days. It does eat chains and cassettes but I'm still on the original chain ring. The Gen 4 Bosch CX has been faultless and the 625 wh battery is abused by charging it in my garage at sub zero temperatures and for long periods of time and is still providing a great range.

I´ve been riding my Wild FS M20 since April and it´s been a blast! Invis since day one and it´s the primary upgrade to any bike for me. I ride this bike without compromise and it gets better each ride. The battery will reach the best performance after some recharge cycles. EMTB mode always. It´s the best ride mode on ebikes I´ve seen. Also upgraded the grips like you with GE1 Evo Factory orange ones. Another upgrade was the rear tire because I open a big cut in the DHR and now I have one Assegai DH Casing. Some people doesn´t like the bike because it takes some effort to take the wheels off the ground, but for me it´s quite simple and I have so much fun with it. I´m going to receive the Orbea Rise soon, maybe next January, and I´ll see the differences between both.

The trails are a mixture all within a 1.5 hour radius of home in Switzerland. I am very keen to get my hands on an Orbea Rise, but lockdown and a lack of good riding conditions at the moment (too much snow) mean it will have to wait. I've got the M20 as well. It's a huge upgrade from my first EMTB (a Decathlon e-st 900 hard tail). So very happy all in all. I love the suspension and brakes. A bit less so the rear derailer (keeps on hopping between gears: I may have damaged it). Some minor negative points: some play in the dropper, I changed the grips, I find the boost mode kicks in much too brutal (not progressive : my previous bike had a Brose which I really prefer as it is much more quiet and progressive). Had to change the saddle (was too hard on my prostate). But again, I really love this bike

Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep an eye on the dropper post to make sure it doesn't develop any unwanted play. I'm not surprised to hear that you didn't like the Raceface grips either! The brutal nature of boost is why I always switch to Eco or Tour mode when starting to pedal on any sort of incline. Having said that, once you're moving, I find boost to be awesome for the toughest technical climbs, because you get maximum support even with very light pedal strokes.

Great review. I have a Wild FS M10 and it's fantastic for a lot of the rocky trails here in SE Queensland. I agree that some sort of frame wrap is vital but have gone for some generic clear wrap instead of the branded versions such as ridewrap. The only issue that I have had that is significant is (post an otb) the seatpost twisted to the left. This caused the dropper actuator cable to pinch. There is a very sharp bend proximal to the motor that this cable has to navigate and it is a bit of a design flaw. Otherwise over a thousand k's on it in 6 months with little issue.

which size would you advise for a 1,81 cm or 5,93 feet tall guy ?
@TrailTrackerSwitzerland
3 жыл бұрын
The Orbea size guide would suggest L is the right size, but if you are looking for a longer reach, you might get away with an XL. However before making any decision, I would recommend speaking to a dealer and sitting on a bike if possible.

What size do you reccomend for 1.85cm rider and I would ride with 35mm stem lenght? Thank you.
@TrailTrackerSwitzerland

That’s tricky. You are right on the border between L and XL. I’d compare the reach on your current bike to that of the Wild FS to get an indication of which would be better, but the only real way to find out is to test ride and compare. I’m 1.87 and when I tested an L, I felt too cramped.

@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland My enduro bike has 470 reach and fits really good and my HT bike also has 470 reach.
@TrailTrackerSwitzerland

470 reach is also right between the L and XL Wild FS. Sizing is such a personal thing. I really think you need to at least sit on one to see what you think. If that’s not possible, you’re just going to have to decide whether you want to go a bit longer or shorter than your current bikes and take a chance.

Hi I have an orbea fs wild H10 I'm also really satisfied with my bike. It's really a monster bike and it eats all the woods I have ridden i Norway. I'm not a pro ridder just a new beginning and this bike has given me a lot of fun days in the woods. The only thing that makes me unsure about my bike is that we have only one bike vendor in Oslo for service and garanti for orbea and this vendor is know for very bad service and they are not very helpfull with there customer. :-(

Poor service from a bike shop sucks I've experienced problems before where shops have tried to overcharge me for work they have done or even tried to charge for warranty work! A false economy on their part - they haven't seen another penny of my money since!! If you are really unhappy with the shop , I'm sure there are other shops that would be happy to take care of you. Apart from the frame, any shop that works with Bosch e-bikes would be easily able to take care of any issues you have.

Great review thanks. I am not emtb expert nor mtb expert but I am very happy with it coming from off-roading on motorcycles and normal road bikes. I am enjoying it a lot too here in CH. Wonder if you have any other tipps for trails in the area of easy to medium. Only issue I had at almost 400kms is had a small drop on the right and the holder of the deralieur bent a little, shop told me that it is meant to do that in order to avoid damaging the carbon frame (btw similar to your tumble) so will check my frame there as I thought there was no damage but didn't checked. But shop fixed it easy and all is ok now. Happy with one battery went for an 80+ km trail ride to Delemont on route 3 and making the most of OFF, Eco and Tour managed to extend it. Used a little of eMTB for that. Thanks for the video looking forward to more. BTW navigation is ok but can be better IMO

Thanks for commenting. The shop you spoke to are right. I would always carry a spare derailleur hanger just in case, since a broken one can end your ride. There are a few options from Cimetta and the Carbon Trail from Alpe di Neggia is also worth checking out, but you’ll probably have to wait until April/May for that one though.

Good to hear you're having a great time with the bike. I’ve got so used to the rattle now, I only really notice it when I’m editing videos. But I know that some people find it really annoying.

How heavy is this ebike?
@TrailTrackerSwitzerland
3 жыл бұрын
I've never actually weighed it, but I guess somewhere around 23kg. I think you notice the negative side of the weight most under braking. But in the rough stuff and when jumping, there is definitely a bonus in terms of stability.

Hi Luis,would you have any pictures of what you did to prevent the fork damage,I had same issue when i had a slow silly fall.forks jammed under frame and caused slight damage,took bike t shop and they supposedly tok the top cup out and reset it,I can put slight pressure on my bars and they forks will move more than they should and feels like the headset cup still moves,not ideal as i know if i have another fall and bars take a hit then the forks will end up under frame again,i removed the key from headset so if this happens again i can just drop forks to get them back with out more damage as last time i couldnt get an allen key in far enough due to str nut being half way down headtube because of the key cap

I'm far from convinced that slacker and longer is the always the answer. It really depends on the trails people ride. Mullet set ups, however, can work really well.
