I agree. There's one thing to be kind as a person in general... but he's also kind with his skills and his knowledge with a genuine passion to pass that on. There's so many people that want to be somewhat possessive of knowledge and not want to share so they can continually be looked upon as some mystical wizard. Natural teachers are fantastic human beings indeed and Anthony is definitely a natural teacher!

And i love his message to the world, and despite who he is he seems so accessable too, and he brought us back to when we were kids in the 80's. And tbh, i think i got my synclavier regen because of those two last years spending time great learning things and history with antony. IMOAnthony marinelli along with doctor mix and alex ball, are really the best audio channels online, and whena nthony and claudio are together it gets epic...

This is... JAW DROPPING.... It's incredible how accurate modeling has become over the past decade. If I closed my eyes, I would absolutely not believe that this was coming from software...... It literally sounds "more realistic" than any solo Orchestral piece, if that makes sense. Blown away... Thanks for the upload Anthony!

It's not only the coding and sound analysis. The computational power that is needed for the real time algorithms wasn't available only like 10 years ago. Not on this scale anyway. And it will only get better as more and more is moved over to the GPU (which is exponentially better at this than the the CPU). But it is impressive.

I'm not sure if those who are not in the details understand how crazy it is to get such a realistic sound just from synthesis generated sound models. It's light-years from everything before, and this, it really sounds authentic.

Brilliantly modelled instruments. A musician friend of mine played some amazing orchestral and instrument sounds on his album last year (or earlier). I asked what plug-in samples he’d used. SWAM. I looked it up. Way out my budget range as an amateur on a fixed income (basic state pension), but if I ever get a windfall….

It feels like this is a big step in synthesis. It feels like back in the 90's when digital synthesisers and samplers kind of killed the analog synthesiser industry. Feels like physical modelling has gotten so good that it might just takeover from sampled libraries.

I remember seeing those Swam library long time ago, more than 10 years for sure. At this time, when i checked internet, there is a litle device (breath midi controller) who everyone used with this library, it's was already freaking impressive ! But now, getting this just with an expression pedal and a wheel modulation is just INSANE ! I can feel how his passionnate about it, great job he is about to do a game changer in the industry ! Many sampled library are actually pretty insane in terms of details, but coming with a physical modeling technology and being able to trick the human ear with some 350mo library are pretty crazy to me ! (french dude here sorry for my english ^^)

This is a great video as usual. The elephant in the room is the same question as when the mellotron came out. You remember Anthony? This will rep[lace orchestras. the end of the line for string players. The musicians union will have a bird watching this video. Etc. I would be really interested in your thoughts on this. I don't mean to be snarky, but I guess someone had to ask. Oh, and hi to Dr Mix! Thanks. Cheers
@ischmidt

TV scores have been replacing orchestras with gigasample VSTs since they first came out around 2000. It's rare in TV now that you hear any actual orchestral instruments (the 2010 "Human Target" series scored by Bear McCreary was a notable exception, and the network refused to pay for Bear or the orchestra after the first season ended). So the major difference between this and the status quo is that at least the fake orchestras will sound a lot more real.
