My Sharry Baby is so tightly root bound, I repotted it into a 6 inch pot a few months ago but it is quickly outgrowing that pot. I can't seem to find any clear orchid pots larger than 6 inches and I'm not yet confident enough in my abilities to not be able to see the roots, so I guess I need to divide it. The cutting and ripping and tearing of the roots freaks me out, eek!

JGregsMu5ic Thanks for the tip. Luckily I was able to go to an orchid store and get bigger pots. I still haven't decided if I'm going to divide the sharry baby or pot the whole plant up.

I have two sharry baby oncicidums with the spot on the leaves, the new pups are not infected with the fungus. I wonder if I could take those pups without killing them to perhaps grow them without fungus or if it's better just to treat topically with antifungual until they are big enough to divide. The pups are about the same size as your medium ones here.

Hi Brad, would you grow Oncidium on a piece of branch or is it better in a pot? Mine is an Oncidium Rosy Sunset (Rosebud) growing on a small branch with sphagnum moss wrapped around. I has two new flower spikes but the roots seem very skinny and small.

This video is really good! I saw that you cut the leaves of old bulbs. Is it really a good thing to do?

Hi Brad, I have an oncidium that doesn't look very nice. I've had it since last spring and it didn't bloom. My tiny twinkle did bloom quite a bit, I bought them at the same time. It's right next to a south window with sheers so it's not getting direct light. It's getting a lot of brown on the leaves and they look limp. The pseudobulbs which have no growth are shriveled. I water with the soak method as with all my other happy orchids once a week. I think I want to divide and repot into 2- 4" inch pots. It's in a 6" pot now, potted in coco husk. Any tips you can give me or links to a video I should watch? Thank you so much. Love your videos.

When you divided the first division could you have divided that one in two? Would that have made each one to small?

Yeah your right, I could have made more but space is an issue these days. That's why it when in two small pots.

I was always under the impression that you should not repot orchids while in bloom. Here you did. Will the bloom continue to bloom now?
@BradsGreenhouse

If you repot when in bloom you will take a chance that you shorten the life of the flowers. This one, the flowers were almost done anyway but I wouldn't have repotted it if it was a fresh spike.

Love the way you just chop chop. The 1st could have used a bigger pot or be divided again, but they should do well with the awesome conditions you provide your orchids. They're so tough, it's hard to kill them sometimes, lol. Way to grow Brad!

Funny I was just looking at greenhouses not 5min. ago & was wondering what size yours was. You've got a pretty high utilization ratio, lol. Probably helps a lot with maintaining the humidity. Plus there's always something in bloom :-)

It is a 8'x12' with lots of alterations and extra shelves! I'm actually looking at building a new one that is WAY bigger but the only spot for it in my yard is where this one sits. So next spring/summer, I might move everything out, take this one down and rebuild in the same spot.
