Great advice! My two youngest boys like to pull their clothes out of their dresser. I quit folding their clothes. Less frustrating and easier to clean up. Everything has an assign drawer, so we just have to sort as we put them back. Plus, makes keeping up their laundry easier because I can just sort them into their own drawer and they like helping me put things away.

My kids could never make their beds. I finally stopped telling them. And now they make their beds in their own places lol Great job letting go of folding. We're so accustomed to think folding is the way to go.

@@SimplyCherie I can get really particular about how clothing and towels are folded and I had to let that go. Letting it go has made laundry manageable with 4 kids. I am sure in a few years I can get back to folding things exactly the way I want. The older kids do their own laundry already and they like to help fold towels. That’s where I really have to let go of the “it’s s not folded perfect” and just accept that folded is good. Ah making the beds. We aspire to have the kids make their beds, and I let go if they haven’t. The chores I really care about getting done is the dishwasher, sink and trash. The older kids help with those. I am trying to teach them that if they start their day with those first thing in the morning (we homeschool, so we have time in our morning routine) it makes it easier to keep the house clean and helps the rest of the day go more smoothly. Two weeks ago we started 1-2 times a day setting a 15 minute timer and everyone has to help tidy up the whole house. This has really helped keep things more manageable.
