The Clutterbug system has changed my life. I'm a ladybug like Cassie herself, and when she showed how she keeps her clothes, it shocked me to the core. She uses Ikea's Kallax. Each type of clothing has its own drawer and does not need to be folded. You just throw a T-shirt with other T-shirts and that's it! I've been using this system for about 5 years now and my clothes have never been better organized.

Cass is a genius. I really want to see if Caige will use a similar system for his side of the closet!! I’m going to show him this comment - he’s a Total butterfly and many of his clothes end up in a pile on the shelves anyway, so putting in a bin to catch them feels so logical! (Not to throw him under the bus - he’s a very good egg lol)

My dad was also someone who kept EVERYTHING, down to years-old bottles of condiments and decaying wood boards. I think it comes from being an immigrant and not really having much growing up. I love ❤ this video!!!!! I can relate to all of it! I’m going into my 12th year selling upcycled jewelry and vintage wares and clothes on Etsy and I still call my workspace a craft room!!! lol Some hacks that have helped me along my selling journey… I love to give my Etsy customers freebies when they order from me, I also use my greeting card stock for thank yous 🙏 and when I get saturated w supplies, I resell them as craft lots… this helps me maintain some clutter, but I too think I can use everything and I like visuals everywhere I work for inspo as well…no bare spaces or dingy brown basements!!! Rabbit, I love ❤️ that huge wood😮 dresser and storage drawer item you have! It’s soooo functional and practical! I just use plastic drawers and thrifted tables and shelves… lots of free and hand me down stuff!!!! You will thrive on your selling journey!!!! I just know it! Your work ethic and merch are awesome!!!! 😎 your parents sound amazing too! 🤩 ❤❤❤❤ and the year dragon of the 🐉 !!!!

As someone who stores her fabric in an old drawer set from her parents- OMG it is a game changer! So much easier to separate- I keep my jersey, cotton/woven and silk and lace type in them and it works! I also have a chest for all the off cut bits for future use- which I have used! But yes do recommend draws to store fabric as you can neatly fold it up and lie it down flat

We have similar thoughts. I literally bought a “paint solvent” for my nail polish I barely use (nail polish thinner). Also the “no one else will use it if I don’t!!” is something I’ve thought before 😂. Love watching someone sort their supplies in rainbow order. The balance between a decluttering/organizing mindset and an environmental mindset is also very relatable! So satisfying seeing the end esp with the rain.

@@RattusRattus I bought some labels from Ikea and the dollar store, just packing tape is even cheaper of course. I think it interesting that you say that about the swifer mop. I have the same one and was recently doing some research about how to fix that problem, without buying anything new 😅 I found some videos on YT about how to self-draft a pattern for a reusable cover pad (made out of old towels or microfiber) and also, how to remove the cap from their containers. Apparently, hot water for a few seconds will soften the plastic enough to remove the cap and still be usable after.

Watching this video has given me the motivation to tackle the hilariously small bit of paperwork that has been breathing down my neck like a great hulking beast. Tyvm! ❤ You can get washable spray mop pads that work on a swiffer wetjet, and you can also open the bottle to refill it with your own cleaner. I've recently had to replace my bottle because the previous one had a hole worn in it from the supports on the interior machine. I'd recommend you google how to open a swiffer bottle, but don't be surprised if you can't find the singular video that seems to get chased around by folks who profit from forcing you to buy new ones repeatedly. If anyone wants me to do a brief rundown of how to open one, I'll reply to this comment with it. Big hugs to the person who figured that out! ❤ I haven't found a replacement for the disposable duster parts yet.

That makes me so happy! Good luck - I get it , sometimes the smallest projects give me the biggest dread - but we can get through it !! And no way!!! I thought it was impossible to open those bottles, I’m glad there’s a way, and also that they make mop pads for it! I’m gonna save so much money 👌 To be honest I started using microfibre clothes and wearing gloves while doing it (not perfect but so far it’s been working for me! - still open to more suggestions though if anyone has any!!) 🥰❤️

@@RattusRattus Paperwork is such a pain lol. The bottle lids are machined on, so you need to melt the tabs on the inside of it. A couple inches of water boiling in the bottom of a pan (just enough to cover the lid when the bottle's upside down in it) should do the trick. Hold it down in the water for a few minutes (probably 1 or 2 minutes), then take a towel (or 2 rags, or a hand towel folded in half, or something to keep you from getting burned) and twist the lid off fresh out of the water. Once it's off, let it cool off entirely, then you should be able to take the lid off and put it on without issue. Hopefully hiding that in the middle of a paragraph will keep it from disappearing for some folks to see it lol. I can't remember the brand of mop pads I use, but anything compatible with a swiffer should do fine. 😁 I did have this idea of taking a microfiber cloth and trying to duplicate a duster part with it, but I'm not sure I want to go through the hassle of sewing a whole-ass garment for a piece of cleaning equipment lol.
