That Buick is stunning and your uncle was a great steward to that car. The color combo is perfect! Please keep it just like it is in this video!

My dream car! A youth leader from church had one, a 1988 Park Avenue..I just fell in love with the car...My parents always had sports cars and I hated the hump in the rear seat on long trips..we had a 1980 Camaro then..No gadgets..basic model but it did have a 305 V-8 4bbl carb,,fast car..If I remember right it was not a very reliable car..it left us stranded across town buying furniture once and then the shift linkage or tumbler whatever it was called went out 4 times!! 80's were not reliable GM cars! I always asked dad "Why can't we have a Cadillac like the realtor has and he would say those are for old farts!

I must confess that I have always had a borderline obsession with the front drive GM C/H bodies.......this is where GM REALLY got their crap together & produced, at least in the case of the Buicks, the most trouble-free American car ever!!!!! Fun fact: Although the PA & T-type had the 3.8 as standard, 1985 was the only year to offer a carbureted base 3.0-liter V6 engine & an optional 4.3-liter V6 diesel engine. 1985 was also the only year for that style rear-view mirror.

Wow. That's really nice. I remember these as a kid when they were brand new....and my father grumbling about GM downsizing their full size cars except for the Caprice. My dad was always a proud Buick man, so buying a Chevy was a step back in his mind.

Really nice Buick. That rough idle was normal for the 3.8 thru ‘87 until the 3800 came out in 1988 with the balance shaft.

I would have to buy this if I had a space in my garage - this looks like the kinda car that Bill Pahl would show on his channel, “Curious Cars”.

My first car was 89 Buick Century, red with red cloth interior. It is sad that GM does not make sedans any more.

2:00 Close but not quite. That was the turbocharging logo. It has nothing to do with whether or not the block is a Grand National block. But I can understand how that would confuse people.

Those plates were used from 1976 to 1978, then Michigan switched to white and black for 1979 to '83, and the "Great Lake State" slogan reappeared. Then came the white and blue plates beginning in 1984, with the slogan shortened to "Great Lakes."

You need to keep that top clean and treated so it stays in that condition. I remember the hood and how it opens. Pretty much all the Buicks from around that time had those style hoods. That 6 on the engine was associated with the turbo charged Regal that came out before the Grand National. Those 6s were in several locations on the car. The first 3.8s idled like shit.

A 1985 Buick Park Avenue with red interior has a chime? I thought that any 1985 Buick Park Avenues that had red interior had the scary buzzer in place of the chime. Could you kindly replace the chime in this Buick Park Avenue with a scary buzzer from a 1977-82 Buick LeSabre?
