Dr. Garner, you are an angel. Really, you are. For a year and a half, I've battled severe jaw and mouth issues, including speech issues. I really wish I could meet with you in person, and tell you what I've been through, maybe you'd have some thoughts on how I can get back to feeling "me" again. But anyway, I have found you by accident, and I've watched a couple of your videos. Even though I've had a chronic issue, what you taught in the videos I watched is already helping me quite a bit! Thank you so much for your wisdom!

This time the YT algorithm made a perfect match! I'd never heard of you or these techniques before today. I've had two total maxillofacial reconstructions (13yo and 27yo) but at 56, am suddenly having issues with clicking, hanging, pain, and a misaligned bite. Two visits for acupuncture have helped, but now I have more tools to help myself. I'm going down the rabbit trail on your videos next. THANK YOU!!

Thank you SO much! I need so much help with this and vagus nerve reset. I clench my jaws at night, especially if I have a stressful day. I grind my teeth and when I chew, I tend to bite my cheeks and now inside upper lip. I’m hoping to continue to follow you and implement these exercises and get relief. Thanks again!

I grind my teeth at night and noticed I do it during the day and my jaw muscles are so sore. Thank you for sharing this! I’m being mindful of grinding and instead I crunch up my toes and this tricks my brain to release my jaw from grinding. I’m also doing vagus nerve exercises, yoga and face massage/lymp massage and breathing techniques.

I am so glad this is helping - on the breathing videos, I typically start with AD breath first (see link below) - and then progress to three part breathing, and ujyaii/overcoming breath. I use ultrasound imaging in the clinic to ensure that folks recover their ability to breath/lung/voice power - and fully relax the orofacial area for maximal vagal health. kzitem.info/news/bejne/sKxpumyIsGV9Zoo

Yes, it's awesome to be able to have a team approach to treating pelvic floor problems. Historically, pelvic PT's stop at the respiratory diaphragm, and so did SLP's. Now we get the benefit of crossing over and helping one another maximize treatment outcomes! Thanks for taking the time to comment. :)

Thank you. This has really helped with my jaw discomfort and my lower back pain. I've tried all manner of modalities and, though they've gotten me closer to feeling pain free, they've never quite gotten me to feeling like "me" again. I'm just wondering if being "tongue tied" is the same as a tight tongue. I've noticed an immediate change in my jaw tension, which has helped reduce my headaches and upper back pain. Again, thank you!

just after gramma died last year, i had numbness beginning in the tip of my lips, then it became the right side of my tongue. gradually it included my right face, ear, and nose- and nagging constant headaches... I had chiropractic adjustment which immediately solved the head aches. with treatments weekly for 6 weeks, then bi monthly for a couple months, then once a month- i am now down to just the tip of my lower lip, but it has not improved in several months. I hope these tips will help.

There aren't a lot of PT's yet. I am currently training about 100-120 annually. But that is an intro course only, 6 hours long. If you go to these websites, and ask them if they've had orofacial/three diaphragm training - that should help you find someone. Hopefully in the future we will have a registry of who has been trained. pelvicguru.com/ www.aptapelvichealth.org/ptlocator

If you compress any vascular supply long enough, anywhere in the body - it can pose a risk. The ball doesn't roll over an arterial supply, however.

This is why insurance-based care is SO limiting, often to the point of medical neglect and mismanagement. The therapist/doc should decide what treatment is necessary, not some agent behind a desk. Makes me SO angry that people don't get access to proper care due to insurance limitations. It should be illegal, because it's certainly unethical and inhumane. That said - I would seek a therapist who specializes in vagus nerve AND orofacial issues. I train folks to do that, so depending on your location and I can help you find someone. But there aren't many at present, who understand the voice to pelvic floor connection (three diaphragms) and treat it. But I'm trying to change that by mentoring and teaching other PT's, OT's, and SLP's. That said, reach out to our general inbox at info@garnerpelvichealth.com and we will try to help you find someone.@@mjey1
