Thanks for sharing this video with the progression. I have the same situation in my backyard. When do you seed the area? Waited until the Fall and how did that work out? Did you have to rip out what was dead already or did you simply just sprinkle in seed?
@fixitFlip
Жыл бұрын
I did seed in the fall. Most of the weeds you kill will shrivel up and disappear by the time you plant. It's best to pick a good week in the fall when it will be in the 60's or so and some rain in the forecast. I actually seeded again in the spring because I still had some bare spots. Spring seedings have a harder time surviving the heat of summer. And the more seed you can work down in to the soil, the better. If you leave it on the surface, most will not germinate. This is the best tool I have found for the job at an affordable price over the years: kzitem.info/news/bejne/r5CDk4SHqXqhp6A

Two weeks is the recommended reapplication time, if necessary. I just put that down in my yard today. I've had pretty good luck with it, and only do it every few years when it's out of control and needs to be dealt with.

@fixitFlip

Not really. Most of it takes a couple weeks to work. What I have found to be most effective that last couple years is using a product like this but being better about jumping on it hard BEFORE it gets this bad. When it's just starting in little patches its much easier to knock out!

Can you mow it after you applied the weed killer , 1 or 2 days later ... ?

According to the company you should wait 1-2 days to mow, but I would probably wait a day or 2 longer than that just to be safe.

Would have been much easier with a premixed bottle hose end sprayer with weed killer.Used for the first time this year and work good and very easy to apply and they typically run 8-20 bucks and cover 5000 sq.ft. Used the Bio Advanced and Spectricide and they destoyed dandelions quick , did good on clover but real heavy clover may need to reapply 2 weeks later.

Do you have to water in the lawn when using Ortho spray weed killer for lawns
@drdrew3

No. Just the opposite. Avoid manual watering or expected rain for at least 6 hours. The chemicals need time to get absorbed. Watering prematurely will dilute and diminish effectiveness

Yes, you can definitely spot treat! I've been hitting some of my clover multiple times this year! It take 3 to 7 days to start killing things ~ its also Concentrated you use 15 tbs per gallon .You want to put it out on a hot day and hope the next day is hot as well.
