I think it a fairly good question to ask how does the engine lubricate the bearings, and connecting rods?? I mean I was thinking about this and unless the engine actually have a brutal leak of power on the compression stroke... there isn't any way for lubricant to reach this?? I actually turned my engine upside down, move the carb to the top and put a Custom Made PCV Valve in the middle of the back plate.. to allow Engine oil to stay inside of the crank case.... but under regular conditions I would love to hear an expert...

First of all I am not, nor have I ever claimed to be an expert on glow engines. I know for a fact that the design engineers at OS know WAY more than I do and I have never questioned these things or their designs. They just work great without modifications and I have NEVER, EVER modified a glow engine from the way it was designed. I have never had an operational failure due to an engine design.
