In this we're taking a look at a special version of Windows 3.0 that released in 1991 that introduced multimedia capabilities in Windows that can support sound cards and CD-Rom drives. This version of Windows 3.0 MME is basically the Creative Labs edition, this is also the very first version of Windows to actually have a start-up and shutdown sound. The Tandy version of Windows 3.0 MME has the start-up sound disabled, which in future we'll showcase the Tandy version. It was succeeded by Windows 3.1 in 1992 along with Windows for Workgroups 3.11 in 1993.
