It's gotten to the point where any pre-'82 reggae records found anywhere cheaply must be bought, simply because they exist in certain sale bins. G and G+ grades aren't just acceptable, but the norm for popular Jamaican pressings of roots, lover's rock, dub, ska, and rocksteady. If that's the only way I'm going to be able to score killer cuts, dubs, and versions for The Old-School Archives Presents: Radio Reggae Roots, then so be it.
Hugh Roy, or simply U-Roy, is one of the early and most legendary toasters of all time, ranking neck and neck with Big Youth as the GOAT. This is killer early work with Hopeton Lewis & Tommy McCook with the Supersonics. Both this song and version are tracks we didn't have in our reggae radio library. That's just icing on the cake. Enjoy. :)
