Thanks a lot posting. You SAVED me a great HASSLE from this scarred CASTLE. What a shame.

It's a shame they modernized and capitalize the interior of the castle.

I’m disappointed. I was hoping to see the inside of the castle like it originally was.

Now that the Castle is a Museum, surely everyone wear their shoes when visiting right but in historical times did everyone take off their shoes when inside the Castle(like a traditional Japanese house) or were only the Castle's private rooms(like bedrooms and family dining rooms) shoe-free?

Hmm, good question. I don't quite know exactly. I have been to many old castles and temples in Japan and the ones that are original, all tourists must take off their shoes to preserve the floors. But, personally, my guess is in traditional times, I think most people in the castles wore shoes because they had to be ready to fight at any time.

@@japanvideotours3445 But how come I don't see the bedrooms and family dining room and the audience hall(I don't even see photos in Google)?were the castle's rooms Not preserved(unlike Versailles Palace Museum in Paris) & are there only galleries in the Castle Musrum?

@@azamshahuddin781 this castle was destroyed many times. The current one is just rebuilt as a museum. The outside looks basically accurate but the inside is completely different. If you watch my tour through Himeji Castle (sorry it is over 1 hours) which is still in it's original condition you will see rooms but they are in a separate building. I think the rooms and places to eat were also a separate building. It makes me wonder what the main keep (called a donjon) was used for. In Himeji castle there are original bathrooms but they are outside.

So true. It looks ok on the outside. But it's a pretty pathetic museum inside.

The castle was destroyed many times. It was even bombed in WWII. They just rebuilt it as a museum -but a pretty boring museum at that. I'm not sure why they didn't try to rebuild it as original. After being in many original Japanese castles, I think they all look the same inside, wooden and poorly lit. But I still prefer that over a modern look like Osaka Castle. I'll never pay money to go inside this castle again though.

A camera moving around purposelessly. What did we see in the museum? People watching the items exhibited. No explanations. Absolutely boring!

How awful it has been modernized instead of restored. Sad. Should have been made to look like when warlords lived in it.
