Duncan Trou from Oscar Propulsion explains the cut blade technology.
The cuts in the blade help maintain the driving force created at the catch by the pressure difference on front/back of the blade. Efficiency is lost when water flows around the blade. By allowing some high-pressure water on the front of the blade to squeeze through the cuts, becoming low pressure in the process, our technology helps retain the high/low difference resulting in retained force. What we have achieved is a more efficient use of the power input from the paddler, a more stable stroke with better grip and a significant reduction of the physiological impact.
