To start a conversation rather than give us all the information. I’d say what you’re talking about is what documentaries are for, don’t you think? I’ve noticed that a lot with Grace. Her review of Hillbilly Elegy was somewhat similar. In my view, she seemed quite stuck on this lifestyle. She seemed upset that people are living this way. It seemed like she wanted to find who the “oppressor” was. This movie wasn’t a call to action but rather a window into this world and culture. Sure many factors and even failures of institutions may influence this lifestyle, but people do choose it and Grace just can’t seem to wrap her head around it. Also the movie isn’t what should tell you how moved you should be, that’s up to you.

One Night In Miami currently has a RT score of 98% and an Audience score that is at 84%. Now, perhaps it is overrated but it has certainly not been as dismissive Grace is trying to make it out to be. It has been both a critical and audience darling at film festivals last year and by all accounts it is REALLY being embraced by viewers this MLK weekend based on all the social media buzz I am coming across. Now Grace is entitled to her own opinion but her take on this movie, her being in that 2% minority of critics, is more proof that film criticism, especially outside of mainstream fare, may not be her cup of tea. Oh, Minari is extremely highly praised as well but I guess Grace couldn’t relate. It should also be pointed out that One Night In Miami is based upon a stage play written by the same man who co-wrote the screenplay for Soul. He adapted his own play into the movie script and frankly I think his dialogue is the best thing about the movie, even better than the tremendous acting. This best part of the dialogue happens after the opening, that one part Grace is high on. If Grace can’t be enthralled by the dialogue exchanges of this film then maybe that type of stuff doesn’t do it for her. But to suggest there has been recent works on the screen that has covered the issues these people in this movie were talking about is absurd. Maybe what race meant instead is that she is tired of hearing such conversations about such topics.

Bob Wells is a leader in the nomad community and has a KZitem channel called CheapRVliving where he interviews people about how they live on the road and what you need to live on the road. He also has a charity to help people out. This is about living a different lifestyle than just sitting around and worrying about where the money is coming from for rent and food. Most of the people in this community are introverts and it allows them to disconnect and still have community. Try some videos and try to understand people can be comfortable by their lonesome.

Van life is real (search on KZitem). A lot of it ties to traveling, minimalism and just being free. Some of them have been forced to be in that place not by there choosing. But many have adapted and enjoy the freedom, but it still wasn’t their choice to be in that position. Films don’t always have to give you the solution on how to fix an issue, sometimes just shinning a light on it to get you to think about it is the goal.

The problem with movies like Promising Young Woman which unfortunately makes them unattractive to many of us is... Well, in this case its the title, but there's always something in your face about them. You showed the posters of Joker and Breaking Bad as the "male" equivalent to this one, but those movies don't shine a spotlight on the fact that the protagonist is male. But "Promising Young Woman" already warns audiences that this is a smart movie about feminist issues, which is not what most of us want to experience when we sit down to enjoy some entertainment. Messages about inequalities or whatever are best told subtly, or by tricking the viewer into a intellectual journey, at least in my opinion. The movie may not be preachy, but just the title alone suggests it would be preachy! Nothing against the movie btw, I just think its a movie very few will watch due to that mindset.

Though the message in Promsing Young Woman is thoughtful and important and I do think that Carey was amzing in the film, some of the filmmaking aspects of the film are quite awkward in my opinion. The dialogue was very obnoxious at points. The style was very appealing tho. It felt like a mix of American beauty and Drive.

Shame - I loved Nomadland - I was hooked the whole way through. I cried several times throughout it too. Really uplifted me and felt like a story of understanding what home means to people and appreciating different people and the world around you. I don’t think it was ever a story of suffering at all.

If anything it was about the step after suffering. In the end I think it was uplifting.

A awards film is art and entertainment both. I have seen nomadland and promising young woman the both were very good. Although Nomadland has no story but if you turn ur phone off and watch it in one go, u are gonna love it.

I thought Minari actually told a straightforward, familiar story of a family and the pursuit of the American Dream, but the overall execution of that story and all of the details packed into it are why I loved the movie. Plus it was cool to see Will Patton pop up in a supporting role.

What's up, Grace? It's cool that your reviewed a batch a films at once. I haven't seen that from any other human. Usually, it's the traditional one at a time. So, Grace, do you think I can eat my sandwich while I watch these films?😀 TERRANCE OUT

This is a great idea. I’d never watch these movies or follow news for them, so having it all in one or two videos makes it much more manageable to keep up with hollywood

The academy couldn’t care less if their choice for Best picture is entertaining or not, ....We have plenty of movies who have been long and bored and The voters have loved it! ...Nomadland it’s the current front runner for Best Picture ,same its director Chloe Zhao has the potential to become only the second woman in history to win Best Director.
