Daniel, i have two questions: If we tune VCO 2 to a third relative to VCO 1 and engage oscillator sync, will VCO 2 harmonically remain a third? And will you do a deep dive on the Collider like the Nemesis? I bought the Nemesis as my first delay after watching your video, and I use it all the time. Thanks! Kent

Hi Kent. When oscillator sync is engaged, one of the strongest overtones is often at the pitch of the second oscillator (if it wasn't sync'd). If you watch videos on both the Nemesis and the Ventris, you'll have a pretty good idea of how the Collider works. -_Daniel_

Hey Daniel, loved this vid and the beat frequency one. Gives me some great patch ideas. Thought I would point out though that you can actually change the lfo waveform from the front panel similar to the sync on and lfo target tricks: Glide + LFO rate. The key trigger option is indeed only from the editor i think

Thanks for all these videos. What about a mini series inside "Synth Clips" on FM ? I imagine an intro and a walkthrough on how to program them, and then several videos on creating different types of sound (ex. pianos/koto/marimba/kalimba/etc then other on substractive type sounds, etc etc)

Hey dan, did you know that on every silver knob on a moog, there is a protective plastic film which is meant to be removed? Use a toothpick. Trust me. ✊️

I really like the series! My favorite has been the intervals, with the dark faced Matriarch. I have a Subharmonicon, and I think a continuation of the interval video could really help out with explaining harmonics. If you could show the visual relationship of one order of harmonic, to the next order, and so on? It could help with choosing intervals on the Subharmonicon’s numerous oscillators. Thanks for sharing, these videos are great!

So it's basically like modulating the detune of a UNISON?
@sweetwater
Жыл бұрын
Hi OMNI_INFINITY. Oscillator Sync is a unique parameter that's unrelated to Unison. It's two oscillators, with the first oscillator controlling when the second oscillator restarts. Since the second oscillator has to restart every time the first oscillator completes a cycle, the second oscillator has harmonic qualities of both oscillators' pitches. When you sweep the pitch of the second oscillator, you can hear the harmonics sweeping even though it retains the first oscillator's fundamental pitch. -_Daniel_

@@sweetwater Ah.Thanks for clarifying! Does the second oscillator start at the same pitch as the first oscillator though when it retriggers every cycle of first oscillator? And why does a silver box that has Roland on it sound as though there is some oscillator synch going on when at "optimal" settings? Thanks in advance for good answers!

PS: Also kinda reminded of the interesting phrases sampled speech makes when at different speeds triggered simultaneously. And obviously the sample used in "Robot Rock" seems to be an oscillator synch. Really like when it has a formant style sound. @@sweetwater
