I'm so glad Kappe is getting the recognition she deserves. I first found about her through Rent-a-Girlfriend and have been studying her work for my art since. I don't know if I can truly describe how much of an inspiration her work and her work ethic is. She's a master at her craft, but humble to allow others to show their talents. Seeing her work again in Oshi No Ko, a series I am absolutely loving right now, only proves these notions. All this to say, she's easily has become one of my favorite and well respected artist in the entire entertainment industry.

I don’t really think that Hirayama needed a “redemption arc.” Even people who positively despise Rent-a-Girlfriend almost unanimously agree that the character designs for the anime are absolutely astounding. Regardless of thoughts on the story, ever since the airing of that anime people have been saying that Hirayama is one of the absolute best in the business for character design. Oshi no Ko wasn’t really a “redemption,” just a further solidification of something that most people already knew to be true: that Kanna Hirayama is insanely talented.

I love how the creative industry is showing how AI would never replaced them no matter how fast it can catch up. If AI does catch up, the subtleties and individuality of artists' works is something that AI will have difficulty to perfect. Knowing that more and more monsters are coming out in the field makes me feel so excited for their future works and the masterpieces of the next generation.
@takanara7
Жыл бұрын
You're delusional, lol. First of all very few artists can work at this speed - and of course AI will improve over time as well. Go back and look at was "AI image generation" was doing in 2019. Of course, hopefully people will just reject commercial AI art and only pay for stuff made by real human artists, the same way Anime fans currently hate on CGI art. Plus the fact that, for example, AI art can't be copyrighted in the US so you can't make money off it.

no, you just doesn't understand the word "Replace" at all. lol how would it replace something that it doesn't exist? you should exist first before being replaced. example of that is kappe. AI is really good at learning. (you may call it copying if you are biased towards it). but it won't learn if there is nobody to learn with. so if you don't exist. it won't learn from you. in short, in the future if you did something really really fucking great. you only have a very short window of capitalizing your talent before an AI learn it.

Great video! very interesting to hear about Kappe and directors behind the scenes, But the title is very clickbait in my opinion. Not only is it never explained how her oshi no ko job "saved her", It seems like she wasn't even in a bad spot before it as she was already very well esteemed I think it's fine to create titles that give half the story and could drive someone to want to know more, but here it seems like the viewer is meant to assume Rent-a-Girlfriends director was in a hot spot, probably based on the notoriety the show has. once again though I'll repeat, the video itself both what's said and the editing/ clips used in the background are all very good, but I thought I should point this out.

Kanna Hirayama has the great potential to go far in life with her great talents. I do solely heavily agree on one thing that is carrying the series to “Rent A Girlfriend” is the beautiful design that’s drawn out beautifully, but plot wise & story progression? Not much, the series should of ended long time ago, shits been dragged out for awhile & still no progression at all. I entirely blame the author “Reiji Miyajima” on this though.
