Oh my gosh. I have loved these guys since I was in the 4th grade on. I had all their albums until I lost them in a fire on Dec 22, 2004. Like any family they have had their ups and downs. It was probably even harder being as popular as they were. They have aged, we have aged together with them. Such wholesome fun. Great music. They were part of my childhood. I found out I had Tourette’s later in life. Back in the 60s in the 70s we always thought it was something that I would grow out of so we didn’t tell the doctors. I found out about 20-22 years ago. One thing I do know, is the Osmonds help me get through those times. For that I will always be grateful. May God bless them keep them safe and healthy.

@@paulbradley705 the Osmonds sold over 100 million albums worldwide and have 59 gold and platinum albums to their credit. At one point they had 5 recordings in the top 10 at one time - the Osmond Brothers, Donny and Marie, Donny, Marie and Jimmy, each with a solo hit. They just didn’t get enough airtime - because DJs thought they were too clean, and went for the Jackson 5, the other family group. They were different, but each were extremely talented in their own way, with the Osmonds outshining the Jacksons in terms of the wide array of styles and genres they more than ably covered. You had variety with the Osmonds, of a very high quality, but because some people were into the things that got pushed on air, younger people never quite noticed them.

I thoroughly agree on that In America and the UK, except for one group who has had an album in the top twenty continuously for 40 years - and that is ABBA. Not only that, they had a HUGE comeback in 2021 with their first album in 40 years, out of which 3 songs made it to 1 & 2 on the charts in 43 countries. The album made it to the top of the charts in 63 countries. They continue to be the best-selling group of all time, outselling the Beatles. (However, Beatles fans may argue with that)

I think they were ahead of their time - that is why. It’s only now when people have grown older and have a wider appreciation of music, that more and more people suddenly like The Osmonds, and are amazed at what they actually sounded like. They had excellent voices and were a wonderful crossover from the crooner style of singing to the younger preferences of R&B, or rock and pop. They were just wonderful and never lost that. The Osmonds gave a span of many generations of their fans, great entertainment!

Those early 1970's "Os-days" were THE BEST! So many wonderful memories and friends made along the way during those few magical years (13,14, 15, 16)...wish we could go back, if only for awhile... The Osmonds should, in my opinion, receive some type of recognition for their tremendous contribution to American music, and The Kennedy Center Honors would be the perfect "vehicle" to honor them in the most appropriate manner. They were always a most special, special family...prayers and good thoughts for them always...

Yes, I know this is 23 yrs old, but Donny's not only still a talented singer/entertainer, he's a great back-row conductor, giving Marie 3 tries to find her charm, which she ultimately did, while keeping all on-key thru the sheer force of his will. Andy Williams was a tough drill-sergeant - a perfectionist like my old high school band director (who would eventually lose his hearing). The fact that they can pull off complex jazz harmonies acapella after many years apart, plus serious health concerns, is testament to his, and of course, their parents', fine tutelage in their formative yrs. Slightly rusty, yes, but the focus accompanying a lifetime of solid musicianship shines thru, nonetheless.
